Our Favorite Driving Locations

Over time, we've developed a deep appreciation for certain tracks and locations that have become our go-to spots for testing and enjoying cars. Let's take a closer look at these beloved locales and the stories that tie us to them:

1. Nurburgring NordschleifeOur enduring love affair with the Nordschleife began with Gran Turismo 4. It was a watershed moment, as we experienced the full 900-degree steering wheel and tackled the legendary Nordschleife in all its glory. Nearly two decades have passed, yet we continue to find ourselves lapping this iconic track, each time discovering new challenges and thrills.
2. Suzuka CircuitOur introduction to Suzuka came via the Sega F355 Challenge arcade game. This game, a pioneer in modern driving simulation, allowed us to virtually navigate real-world tracks. Suzuka was the first such track we encountered, and it left an indelible mark. Its unique layout and history make it a perennial favorite.
3. Zhuhai International CircuitZhuhai holds a special place in our hearts as the first real racetrack we ever drove on. This experience alone ensures that we return to Zhuhai more often than most. Its F1-class design also makes it a perfect benchmark for testing the performance of supercars, adding to its appeal.
4. Mount HarunaMade famous by the hit manga "Initial D," Mount Haruna is a touge (mountain pass) that holds immense significance for us. Our first encounter with this winding road was through the arcade racing game "Battle Gear 2," which predated the official Sega Initial D arcade games. The game allowed us to experience the very course featured in the manga, immersing us in Takumi's world. According to the manga, Takumi honed his skills by daily runs on this pass for five years. We have easily matched that record, we've certainly driven it countless times in an array of different cars.
5. Sonoma RacewayFormerly known as Sears Point or Infineon Raceway, this California track made its digital debut in Gran Turismo 4. Sonoma Raceway's undulating terrain and sprawling layout deliver an abundance of excitement. Moreover, it exudes a fantastic track day atmosphere that elevates the driving experience. Whenever we're looking for a track to enjoy our cars to the fullest, Sonoma Raceway consistently tops the list.

These locations have become more than just tracks to us; they are waypoints in our automotive journey, each with its unique story and significance. They continue to fuel our passion for driving and exploration.
