Carefully, he studied one of his favorite stories so he would know every step to defeat the wicked and perverted Baron. He would swap minds with the hero and live out his fantasy at last including the “Happily Ever After” with his grateful princess.
He stepped into the projector and initiated the identity shunt.
For an instant he shared consciousness with the noble Sir Verron who was in the middle of a sword fight. The brief confusion allowed his foe to strike a deadly blow and Brian’s unintegrated mind leapt to the last person Verron thought of as he died.
Now Brian was in the body of the Princess Follina who’s protector had just been slain. The wicked Baron was cutting through her guards and would soon take her to wife intending to sire an heir on her. With no noble knight pledged to save her. She would likely never be rescued and become the Mother of the Baron’s children.
Brian listened to the coming carnage with dread. How could this have all gone so wrong?
