Kyle could hear the distant yelling and cheering of the children’s soccer game cut short when a misjudged kick saw the ball thud on the ground towards him. Far away, he could see the faces of the children turn to him expectantly. Feeling the pressure, Kyle moved slowly to the ball before bringing his foot forward, launching the ball back towards the group with a small chorus of appreciative cheers. Kyle smiled, glad to see them playing once again.
“Thank you!” a woman’s voice called out to him as he began to walk away. She was short, probably around forty, and dressed in the athleisure wear that Kyle expected from one of the parents watching their children play.
“No worries”, Kyle said, moving to continue walking, but the woman followed him, her voice coming quickly and forcing him to continue the conversation.
“They can get so excited when they play that they kick it too hard! Luckily you were here to give them the ball back”, she said, coming closer. Kyle wanted to leave and continue his walk in peace, but there was something about the woman that was enchanting. “I don’t think I’ve seen you here before. What’s your name?” she asked.
“Kyle”, he said. “Though I really should be going.”
“Good to meet you, Kyle!”, she said, shaking his hand firmly. “I’m Jessica. Do you want to watch the game?”
As much as Kyle wanted to leave, he knew that he had nothing better to do. The walk was simply a way of getting some fresh air, and he would be getting that whether he was watching some soccer or walking alone.
“Sure, why not?” Kyle said, beginning to walk back towards the game with the woman. Kyle had expected at least a simple conversation, but he found that Jessica didn’t let him get in a single word. It was as though she had bottled up conversation for weeks and was uncorking it around him. By the time that they reached the edge of the playing field Kyle had been briefed about everything in Jessica’s life – her children’s performance at school, the local gossip, and how much they all enjoyed coming to the soccer game every weekend.
“Oh, I’m so sorry! Where are my manners? I’m such a gossip sometimes”, Jessica said with a smile, stopping amongst the line of other parents dutifully watching their children kick the ball. “Have you ever been into soccer? My kids can’t get enough of it!” she said, gesturing to the game.
“I’ve never really gotten into it”, Kyle said truthfully.
“You should! Or at least, you should come along to watch. Even if it’s not good exercise being in the crowd, it’s a good chance to socialise!” she said, laughing. The nattering coming from the other moms watching the game behind her only proved her point. Kyle did find it strange to be the only guy watching the game but tried to remove his worry but reminding himself that Jessica had invited him. He could slink off back to his walk at an appropriate time, but for now it would be rude to simply walk off. Standing beside Jessica, Kyle watched the game. Initially, it had seemed confusing, but he was soon able to ascertain which side Jessica’s children were on, and therefore the side that the surrounding parents were supporting. When the group cheered he joined in, albeit without the maternal passion of some of his fellow spectators.
As Kyle watched, his body began to change. He had initially decided to start going for walks in an attempt to lose weight, but now the weight fizzled away across his body rapidly. His gut vanished, the bulk across his face, legs, and arms disappearing in an instant. Kyle didn’t notice, his mind firmly focused on the game that was growing more interesting by the second. He clapped his hands to join in with the applause after a free kick was given, and his bones began to adjust. His shoulders slimmed down with a painless crunch, his limbs elongating as his torso grew thinner. Although his legs were growing longer and slimmer, his height decreased until he was near equal to Jessica, his spine compressing. He found that he had to lean around some of the taller parents in order to watch the game comfortably.
“So were you just here for a walk?” Jessica asked.
“That’s right! I wanted to get some air and some exercise”, Kyle responded. He was feeling unusually energetic, his whole body feeling more lithe and lively now that it was slimmer.
“That makes sense!” Jessica said, looking him over. “You’re definitely dressed for it!”
Kyle nodded in agreement as his clothing changed. The grey hat that Kyle began to warp. It grew cleaner, now branded and expensive instead of the nondescript hat it once was. The peak of the baseball cap shielded his eyes as he moved his head, watching the ball get kicked back and forth between the two sides. Kyle could feel something tickling at his neck. His hair had shifted into a sandy blonde colour, growing long and luscious in his finger tips as he held it. Trying to watch the game, Kyle simply threaded it through the back of his hat, his hair in a long ponytail behind him.
Underneath his jacket, his shirt lost much of its structure, shrinking down until it was a pair of large cups hanging on his chest. Straps worked their way over his smaller shoulders, connecting up with the rest of the garment and creating a large bra. His jacket grew brighter into a shade of hot pink, clinging tight to his smaller body as it reduced in size. Beneath his jeans, Kyle felt his manhood twitch for a moment as his underwear shifted from a soft cotton to an even softer silk, large and stretched across his suddenly wider hips. Kyle’s jeans began to change, the denim giving way to lycra, shifting darker until it was pure black. It clung tight to his legs, rising up to just below his knees and leaving his shins exposed. Kyle’s socks crept lower until they barely covered his ankles, his sneakers compressing down to accommodating his now shrunken feet.
Kyle looked down at his new outfit. He knew that something looked different in comparison to how he dressed that morning, but it was difficult to say what. Another parent’s voice soon distracted him, preventing further investigation.
“So which one of the kids is yours?” one of the other soccer moms said, point to the players on the field.
“Oh, none of them. Jessica invited me to watch”, Kyle said, not noticing that his voice was growing steadily higher and softer.
“That’s a shame. You look like you’d be a good parent!” the other spectator said before disappearing back into the crowd. Kyle had never considered having kids before, but was the stranger right? Would he make a good parent?
Just as Kyle considered the possibility, there was a slight tingling on his chest. His nipples grew longer and hard, and the fat beneath them began to swell. Soon, Kyle had a pair of large breasts, squeezed into the bra. He felt the weight of them affecting his posture, a slight recurrent ache appearing across his back. Beneath his tight leggings, Kyle’s thighs began to swell until they were thick and curvy, the lycra quickly adjusting to his increased size. Finally, stretch marks appeared on the flesh of his rear as it grew, cellulite and fat forming a round, large behind. His face adjusted. There was still a hint of who Kyle once was, but now it was more round, with higher cheekbones and a dainty nose. Noticeably, his face was now covered in a layer of functional, casual makeup.
Kyle was feeling more than ready to become a parent. His mind began to drift, the soccer players all blurring into one brightly coloured mass, but then one figure stood out from them all. No matter where they were on the field, Kyle knew he would recognise them anywhere. It was his child. Kyle watched excitedly as their son began to run at the call, skilfully dribbling the ball between his feet. With a last-minute kick, the ball soared into the net. Kyle cheered loudly.
“Well done honey!” he yelled out, his voice fully feminine and refined. The child waved back, grinning. Kyle could feel the connection between them and forgot that he had never had a son. New thoughts flooded in – he could remember his birth, the trauma and the joy, and the supportive hand of his husband on his shoulder as he pushed new life from his body.
Underneath Kyle’s panties, his manhood slipped up inside of himself. The flesh shifted, forming a vagina, with no trace of Kyle’s penis present. Jessica’s voice came beside them once more.
“When’s it due?” she asked, rubbing Kyle’s belly.
“What?” he asked, confused.
“Sorry – must be your baby brain!” Jessica said with a giggle. She stepped back from him. “I’ll let you watch your other kid in peace!”
Something was forming deep within Kyle. New organs blossomed into existence, and within them something even newer formed – a human foetus. Kyle leant back, feeling his belly swell as the cells within rapidly developed into a baby, close to its due date. He could feel his whole body aching with the strain, his breasts growing even larger and swollen with milk. Despite the pain, Kyle knew that this was what he wanted. After all, this was what him and his husband had dreamed of for years – two healthy children, the perfect family.
At the thought of his husband, a final wave of new memories overtook the old. Kyle could remember everything about their relationship – their nervous first date, their beautiful marriage, and the dreamy life they had together now. Kyle knew that he was living the perfect middle class existence, spending all day looking after the kids while his hubby brought in the money. Once the kids were tucked away in bed each night, the two parents made sure they made the most of their time together. As the changes concluded, Kyle forgot that he had ever been someone else. This life was all that she knew.
“Sorry, what was your name again?” Jessica asked the mother to be as the game concluded.
“Kylie!” she said, shaking her hand.
“Kylie, I’m awful with names, sorry!” Jessica said, laughing.
“Me too! Baby brain!” she responded, the two women giggling once more.
“It looks like your son enjoyed his try out session”, Jessica said as Kylie’s curly haired soccer star ran over, covered in mud but happy. “Do you want to come back to mine for some lunch and a playdate? I thought it would give you a good chance to put your feet up.”
“I’d love that!” Kylie said, rubbing her swollen body with a satisfied smile.
