Couple's Bodyswap - Lucy's View

“Thank you both for coming at such short notice, and in the evening too!” the doctor said, extending his hand to each of them as they came into his office. Marcus pulled the plush chair out for his partner, Lucy.

“Not at all!” he said, guiding her to her seat. “We’re just glad that you got back to us so quick.”

“Yeah, when we signed up to the trial, we thought we wouldn’t hear anything for a while”, Lucy said with a smile. “It sounds like science fiction, you know?”

“We get that a lot here, I can assure you”, the doctor said with a wry chuckle. “But please, where are my manners? I am Doctor Sandberg, I’m the head of experimental restoratives here at Nantech. We got in contact with you both regarding the possibility of restoring Lucy’s sight.” Marcus watched as the doctor grabbed a handful of papers from his desk, looking them over. “When was it you lost your sight, Lucy? Just double checking. That’s not too personal of a question, is it? I’m a research doctor – my bedside manner is lacking-“

“That’s fine, Doctor”, Lucy said with a smile. “I started losing it when I was fifteen. By the time I was seventeen, I was completely blind.”

“That’s why she’s with me – she’s got no idea how ugly I really am”, Marcus interjected. Lucy sighed sarcastically, squeezing his leg.

“You two have been together for some time, then?” Sandberg asked.

“It’ll be our ten-year anniversary next month”, Marcus said.

“Congratulations!” the doctor replied. “That’s mostly the reason we wanted to get in contact with you. The sight restoration experiment is sadly still in its early stages.” Marcus could see Lucy’s posture slump slightly, his partner finding it hard to mask her disappointment. “Lucy, you will be one of the first human patients we will try the procedure on, but we want to make sure it’s successful – both for the sake of your vision, and for the benefit of science, of course.”

“Of course, doctor”, Lucy said with an understanding nod. Marcus took her hand in his as he sat beside her. He knew that Lucy managed well with her lack of sight – she had been like it as long as he had known her. As much as she was coping well with her ‘new normal’, he could tell there was a desire to have it back. She was not blind from birth, and that meant that some of her earliest memories were visual, something she wanted to get back.

“There is a worry, shared between myself and some other members of the research board, that the procedure could be overwhelming if you are not sufficiently prepared to have your sight returned to you. Imagine, Marcus, if I suddenly bestowed upon you a sense that you had forgotten how to use entirely – your brain would not be prepared for it and may react negatively, potentially rendering the whole experiment a failure.”

“I understand”, Marcus said, pretending. He was never the most intellectual of men, and most of Sandberg’s science talk was going far over his head, yet he tried to at least look like he understood. Lucy, in comparison, was paying rapt, honest attention.

“This is why we’ve brought you in today – we have come up with a theory. The best way to gradually ease Lucy into seeing again would be to do a trial run, use the neuron pathways of someone who is already used to seeing. In essence, giving her a chance to find out what seeing is like again, without any of the risks.”

“How would you do that?” Lucy asked, leaning in. Though blind, Marcus could tell her hearing was impeccable and he noticed her making a great effort to look the doctor in his eyes, based on where his voice was coming from.

“Alongside experimenting with the sight restoration technology, my department has been working hard in other fields too. Have you heard of the nanite dream experiment? We sadly received some negative press about it last year-“

“I heard the government made it illegal”, Lucy said. Sandberg shook his head with another chuckle.

“Technically, yes. But there exists a loophole in the legislature. Marcus, are you familiar with the procedure?”

“No, I’m not.” Marcus admitted. The doctor smiled, eager to explain his work.

“It’s still in its early stages, like much of our work here in the department. In layman’s terms, we use nanites to collect samples of a person’s dreams during their REM sleep. These can be stored and transferred, effectively moving someone’s consciousness to another person.”

“Permanently.” Lucy said. “That’s why it was outlawed, you could get someone stuck in someone else’s body.”

“That is correct. Or was correct, rather. We’ve had a recent development: naturally dissolving nanites. Simply put, this means we can make the change temporary. Two people can swap consciousness while they sleep, and next time they sleep then the changes will reverse, resetting them back to normal. The legislation concerns permanent, irreparable changes, something that I can assure you, is not in the interest of Nantech.”

“How is this related to Lucy’s sight?” Marcus asked.

“That is what I wanted to speak to you both about. Our research shows that the transfer of consciousness works best on ‘bonded’ people, such as long-term partners and family members. We believe we would be able to transfer your consciousnesses into each other’s bodies – temporarily of course. This would give Lucy a chance to experience sight again before we go through the full restoration procedure on her later. Lucy, it would let you see if regaining your sight was really what you wanted, and a chance to see through Marcus’ eyes – literally!” Sandberg chuckled at his own joke. “So, what do you say?”

“Lucy?” Marcus asked his partner, who was silent next to him. “What do you think? It’s your decision.” After a pause, she spoke.

“Let’s go for it. It’s only temporary, right? And I think I can trust you enough Marcus that you won’t mess around while you’re in here”, she said, tapping one of her temples and laughing.

“I should be the one worried,” he said. “You’ve never gone to the toilet standing up – it’s going to be chaos!” he joked.

“I’m glad you two are so excited to get started!” Doctor Sandberg said, standing. “Please, come with me and we’ll get you settled.”

A grin cracked across Lucy’s face as Marcus helped her to the door. Doctor Sandberg led the pair through what felt like endless corridors of gleaming metal. Far from a skilled conversationalist, the doctor began to vaguely explain his role and the company’s technological attempts. Most were covered with a veil of secrecy that meant he kept the details brief, but Marcus was intrigued, even if he was as confused as ever. They walked slowly, Lucy’s hand gently touching his elbow to ensure they were still together. They passed by numerous signs, leading towards ‘Water-Based Change Solutions’, ‘Touch-Prompted Nanite Infusions’, all of it beyond Marcus’ understanding. As the doctor turned off, leading the couple towards a ‘REM Transfer Laboratory’, Marcus slowed, taking the chance to speak with Lucy.

“Are you sure this is what you want, Luce?” he asked. The smile on her face grew even wider.

“Absolutely. Why do you ask?”

“You’re not nervous about the whole thing? What if it doesn’t work?”

“It sounds like you’re the nervous one, Marcus…” Lucy said teasingly.

“I’m not! It’s just-“

“You scared to feel what it’s like in my body?” she asked him, smirking. “Come one, it might be fun! I’ve always wondered what it’s like to be you, and you must have thought the same about me, right?”

“I guess…” Marcus said sheepishly, his voice trailing off.

“Come on. It’ll just be for one day, and it’s the best way to see if getting my sight back is possible or even something I want. Will you give it a try for me?” she asked, squeezing his arm softly. Marcus relented.

“Fine. Come on, let’s get this over with.”

“I appreciate you might not feel tired yet, but that’s okay,” the doctor said as the couple walked into the room. “The transfer will happen once you’re both in the deepest part of sleep, so there’s no rush.” They were in a large laboratory, joined by numerous other scientists who were studiously reading monitors and taking notes. In the centre of the room were two beds, positioned with the headboards touching. Dangling above each was some kind of metal headset, a slick steel band with hundreds of cables and wires running from it. Marcus explained the sight to Lucy, how the beds looked, how the wiring came together in the middle in a large, circular machine, before merging with the cables on the other end, running back into the opposite headset.

“Obviously, the finalised product will look much slicker than this primitive machine. Once the legislation is changed, of course”, Sandberg said with a warm smile. “I can assure you, it’s all perfectly safe. If you want to back out at any point, just let us know and we’ll drop you off back at home.”

“We’re not backing out, don’t worry. Isn’t that right, Marcus?” Lucy said, squeezing his hand.

“Yeah, we’ll give it a go.” Marcus said, squeezing her hand back. Their relationship was built on touch and trust, and he knew that even if they were in different bodies, nothing would change that.

“Excellent. Whenever you’re ready, if you’d like to both lie down and we can get everything set up”, Sandberg said, gesturing towards the two beds. Marcus began to lead Lucy forwards, but soon a team of attendants were helping her get comfortable in the bed. Marcus did the same. Despite being in the middle of a laboratory, the beds were soft and cosy – better than their own at home. One of the attendants fastened the headset over his brow, the metal feeling cold against his warm skin.

“This isn’t going to hurt, is it doctor?” Marcus asked.

“Not at all! Though, it might be disorientating, for both of you”, he said, helping the attendants attach the crown of cables to both of them. “Once you’re both in a deep sleep state, we’ll activate the nanites. These are going to whizz around your heads and scoop up the essence of you – psychology isn’t my field, but if thinking of it as your ego and your id helps you conceptualise it, then believe that. Once this is collected, it’ll then be processed in this central machine”, Sandberg said, gesturing to the large circular device hanging from the ceiling between the two beds. “From there, your consciousness will be processed, ensuring there is a total transfer of your ‘self’. Then, it gets pumped back into the other’s brain, where, now vacant, the nanites will take root. By the time you fall asleep again, the nanites will decompose and the transfer gets reversed, without the need of this bulky apparatus. They’ll simply find their way home. It really is a remarkable feat of science. I wish I could say that both of you will be mentioned in the paper, but here at Nantech we take client confidentiality very seriously.”

“What happens when we wake up?” Lucy asked. Marcus silently was glad she asked what he was burning to know himself.

“You, Lucy, will open Marcus’ eyes. You will have control over his body, his form, his regular functions, but retain your ‘self’. Marcus, the same will happen to you with Lucy. We’ve done this experiment numerous times now, but never with a couple of different genders, or one with a disability, for that matter. Your experiences are going to be crucial to helping us develop this further.”

“What then?” Marcus asked.

“Once you both wake up, we’ll take you back home. We can hardly expect you to drive back, Lucy, even in the body of someone who holds a driving license. Lucy, you can adjust to your sight in a familiar environment, and Marcus, perhaps this will be a good chance to understand what Lucy’s day to day experience is like, yes?” Marcus flushed red, embarrassed a little. He had always done his best to understand what life was like for Lucy, but no matter how well she described it, he could never picture what it was like being completely blind. Once, he had tried doing regular tasks while blindfolded: pouring coffee, finding his phone, but Lucy found his attempt at empathy insulting. Her blindness wasn’t just not seeing, she had told him. It was far more than that.

“We won’t hang around watching you both until you fall asleep, don’t worry”, Sandberg said, tearing Marcus away from his train of thought. “Once you’re both fully asleep, we’ll all come back and initiate the transfer. How are you both feeling?” he asked.

“I’m ready. Are you, Marcus?” Lucy said. Her partner nodded his head.

“I’m ready. Let’s do this.”

“Excellent! Sleep well, both of you!” Sandberg said, leaving the room with his team of attendants. Even after the door was closed quietly behind them, it took a while for Marcus or Lucy to speak.

“God, I think I’m too excited to sleep”, Lucy said. She moved slightly, the cables dangling above her head rustling. “I feel like it’s Christmas Eve.”

“I’m just worried it won’t work. I don’t want you getting disappointed.” Marcus said, trying to mitigate some of Lucy’s excitement.

“If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. I do have one thing I’m worried about, though.” She said, her voice echoing in the now empty room.

“What’s that?”

“What if I see you in the mirror and realise how ugly you are?” Lucy said, quickly breaking into a laugh. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding-“

“I know, Luce”, Marcus said, laughing. After another break in their conversation, Marcus heard Lucy roll over.

“I’m going to try and get some sleep. I’ll see you in the morning. Make sure you treat my body right, you hear?”

“I will, don’t worry. I love you.”

“I love you too!”

The silence returned once more. At times, Marcus thought he heard the ticking of a clock, but the room was empty except for the beds and the numerous monitors on the walls. Even though they were alone, he felt watched. As soon as he drifted off, he knew that Sandberg would come back, observing and analysing their every move. Soon, the gentle snoring of his partner gave Marcus something else to focus on. He found his breathing falling into the natural rhythm of her own, and slowly drifted off himself.

Marcus was floating. He had dreamt before, but never like this. He usually dreamt of half remembered places, surrounded by people he almost knew, but here he felt different. He was still himself, but not a part of his body like he usually felt in his dreams. He was intangible, immaterial. He floated, up away from where he knew his body was. Slowly, he felt the sense of closeness he often felt with Lucy passing him by. It was like a shiver, running down his back when someone stood behind him. Ships in the night, he felt her presence leave him, heading back to where he had just left. Then, he was sinking down, seeping into a strange form. They woke up.

Lucy opened her eyes, and saw nothing, just as she had done a hundred times before. It wasn’t a darkness in front of her eyes – it was the complete absence of the ability to see. A wave of panic surged through her as she tried to adjust, her mind screaming at her, why can’t I see? With shaky breaths, she stabilised and tried to focus on what she could still sense, even if she couldn’t see. She was lying down in the bed, the headset still attached. Even without moving, her body felt smaller, lighter, taking up less room on the bed than she was used to. Her hair had tumbled around her pillow, giving her head a weight she wasn’t used to. Strangest of all was the weight across her chest – Lucy’s breasts squeezed into a sports bra. She knew there was also something different between her legs, an absence of the familiar weight and warmth she was used to. Slowly, she touched her hands together. Her fingertips were soft, gentle, each topped by a slightly pointed nail.

“Oh my god, it worked! I’m Lucy!” she said, immediately placing a hand to her mouth as if to stop the strange voice from coming out. It was a voice she was intimately familiar with, but now that it was coming from her own body, even the most familiar of sounds was strange, as if being listened to through a filter. She could hear the murmuring of other voices in the distance, like the attendants around the room. Then, another sound crept to her ears. With her sight gone, she found it easier to focus on the subtler noises around the room. From near her head, she could hear laughter, in a deep, familiar voice, broken up with tears.

“I can see…” came a voice – Marcus’ voice. Much as Lucy’s voice now sounded stranger, hearing what once was their own voice now in the third person was similarly disorientating. She could hear heavy footsteps as Marcus got out of bed, laughing.

“How is it?” she said.

“This is incredible – I had forgotten. It’s like hearing an old bit of music you used to love or tasting your favourite snack as a kid.” Marcus said. Lucy could hear a rush of attendants supporting him as he got out of the bed, disconnecting the headsets from them both. She felt a sudden touch at her shoulder, almost making her jump.

“Is that what you’ve been doing my hair like all these years?” came Marcus’ voice again, jokingly mocking. Lucy couldn’t help but laugh, feeling his hand and taking it in her own. This was strange. She knew Lucy’s body like no one else’s but being inside of it was a wholly different experience. The air of the room felt colder, her tongue sitting strangely in her smaller mouth.

“I’m glad to see the transfer was a success!” Sandberg said. Even without seeing him, Lucy felt as though she could judge exactly where he was in the room, just a little behind Marcus. She found herself building a three-dimensional plan of the room and its occupants in her head. “Here, you might want to see this, Lucy- I mean Marcus”, Sandberg said. Whatever he was doing prompted a gasp from Marcus.

“What’s going on?” she asked.

“It’s a mirror. So, this is what you looked like?” Lucy felt Marcus’ hand creeping to her shoulder once more, giving it a loving squeeze. “Far better than I imagined, you’re lucky!”

“Oh, stop it”, Lucy said with a giggle.

“So is it safe to say you’d like the sight restoration therapy once it’s available?” Sandberg asked.

“Yes – Absolutely, yes!” said Marcus, excited.

“That’s great! But you don’t need to decide just yet. Let’s get you two both home and you can let us know tomorrow morning once you’ve had more chance to get used to seeing again.”

Marcus led her out of the bed and back towards a waiting car. Every few moments he stopped to stare at something, and Lucy found herself prompting him to keep walking. Each step was odd and shaky, her mind unused to her smaller body and altered centre of gravity. It was almost as if she was wearing a costume, but one that was the perfect replica of Lucy. She only wished that she could see people’s reactions. Eventually, she felt the warmth of sunshine on her skin, which was a welcome relief after the climate-cooled air of the laboratory.

“Here”, Marcus said, taking her hand. “You need to dip your head a little, we’re getting in the back of a car.” She felt Marcus move her, easily shifting her down into the car. His strong touch was sending shivers through her body. Was this how Lucy felt all the time? The car shook beneath her as the engine started, and she sensed Marcus next to her. They held hands in the backseat.

“This is crazy”, he said.

“I know right? How are you liking my eyes?” Lucy asked, the car continuing the short journey back home.

“It’s weird. It’s like a dream. Things look different to how I remember, cars, clothes, that sort of thing. I can’t wait to see our house, though! I’ve imagined it so many times. What if I don’t like the wallpaper?” he said with a laugh. “What about you? What’s it like being in the body of Lucy?”

“Again, it’s weird”, she said. It feels odd. Like my brain isn’t used to having a body like this. I feel a bit out of proportion, you know?”

“I get what you mean. Everything feels higher up for me – for you it must be the opposite, right?”

“Exactly. Obviously, the sight is a big thing. You’ve explained it to me loads over the years, but now I actually know what it’s like. I’m sorry for not getting it before.” Marcus’ hand gently brushed her cheek.

“It’s okay. How could I expect you to understand? It’s not your life, it’s mine.” She felt him lean away from her, probably looking out of the window. “Is this what our neighbourhood looks like? You always made it sound like a slum, look at this place!” Marcus said.

“We must be almost here”, Lucy responded. Even though she was interpreting the world from Lucy’s perspective, she knew it still wasn’t completely how she lived. He still had a memory of what their home looked like; what Marcus looked like. Everything in Lucy’s world was either done from decades old memories or through her imagination. She felt the car pull over, now more sensitive to the inertia of the vehicle. Marcus left the car eagerly and came back to open her door.

“Here! Let’s go look at our home!” he said, leading her up the driveway. He fumbled with the lock in the doorway, his fingers no doubt still feeling clumsy and large in comparison to Lucy’s dainty digits. When Lucy heard the door swing open, Marcus was silent.

“Marcus? What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, it’s beautiful”, he said. Lucy smiled. She had worked hard to make the house perfect for her partner, even if she knew they’d never see it. That was, until now. “Come on! I want to see everything!” Marcus led her upstairs to the bedroom. She sunk down into the soft covers. “I’ll be right back, there’s so much I want to try!” he said, laughing. Meekly, she waved at him as he left the room, leaving her alone in bed. It had felt large before, but now in Lucy’s body, it felt colossal. As she lay back, she could hear Marcus downstairs, laughing as he played with the everyday parts of their life together. She could hear the kettle boiling, him opening the fridge – all sights that she had taken for granted that morning. A strange feeling crept into her as she was left alone, one of abandonment. Marcus had dumped her here and left her to go play around with the house. Then, another feeling crept in – guilt. How many times had it been the other way around, with Marcus off with friends or playing games while Lucy was left bored, unattended? She rolled over, feeling the covers caress her soft skin.

Now idle, he hands began to wander. Teasingly she found her fingertips brushing against her sports bra, the sudden sensitivity of her nipples causing her to gasp. She hadn’t ever mentioned it to Marcus, but she knew they most likely both curious as to how things would feel for them in each other’s bodies, engaging in the most intimate of actions. With some difficulty, she slipped the sports bra off, feeling her breasts decompress. Slowly, she squeezed at her breasts, something she had done a thousand times before, but never feeling as unfamiliar as this. They felt larger in her small hands, the sensation of being touched, rather than just being the one touching was sending strange feelings coursing through her body. She kicked off her sweatpants, throwing them to the floor. Sighing sensually, one hand began to wander lower, just about grazing the unfamiliar sex between her legs, when the door swung open.

“Luce! What are you doing?” Marcus asked. Lucy, embarrassed, immediately pulled the covers up over herself. She knew she couldn’t see, but she couldn’t bear to look at Marcus right now. She was so wrapped up in her own pleasure that she hadn’t heard him coming back upstairs. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry, I just got curious and I-“ she rambled, slowly reappearing from the covers. Marcus said nothing. “Marcus? What’s wrong?”

“That’s strange…” Marcus said to himself, after another pause. “That’s new…”

“What’s happening? Marcus?” Lucy asked.

“Nothing, it’s nothing. Don’t worry about it”, Marcus said quickly. Lucy couldn’t help but giggle.

“Are you getting hard, Marcus?” she asked teasingly. “Did seeing me touch myself turn you on?” The silence from her partner told her all she needed to know. There was a tension between them, a curiosity.  She felt a rush of air as he moved closer. His voice came low and husky in her ear.

“While it’s nice being able to see with your eyes, I’m interested as to how the rest of you works too. Do you think we could run our own little experiment?” he said, leaning closer. Lucy could smell his aftershave, dark and intoxicating.

“I think I would like that”, she said.

Marcus kissed her. Lucy gasped. Without sight, every touch was heightened, his large hands holding her cheeks or the rough brushing of his stubble against her skin, all of it was strange but Lucy was desperate for more. Fumbling, she pulled his pants down.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” he asked. She nodded her head.

“What other chance are we going to get? And don’t tell me you’ve never been curious”, Lucy said with a smirk. Marcus pulled back from her, and she found herself spreading her legs. Much like back at the laboratory, she was picturing how things looked in the room. Their sex life was healthy, it was easy to picture. This time, however, she found herself viewing things from a different perspective.

“Do you trust me?” Marcus asked. Lucy rolled her eyes, leaning forward to kiss him once more.

“Of course I do, babe. I want this. It’s weird, and strange, but I want this. I want to know how it feels”, she said. She heard Marcus taking a deep breath, and slowly he begun to slide in the tip of his manhood.

“Oh god-“ she said.

“What is it? Does it hurt? I can stop-“ Marcus said in a panic.

“No! Don’t stop, Marcus” Lucy said, feeling his weight on top of her. She reached up to touch him, feeling his broad, bare chest. “Put it in me”, she said. Slowly, Marcus continued. It felt incredible, his full length inside of her, and unlike how she had ever imagined.

“What now?” Marcus asked.

“What do you mean ‘what now’?” Lucy said. “We’ve had sex before, silly. Thrust, however fast you like.” Nervously, she felt Marcus’ shaft pull back, before sliding back into her again. “That feels so fucking good, Marcus. Is it good for you?”

“Yeah. It’s good. Different, but good.” Though she couldn’t see, Lucy knew that from his tone of voice a smile was cracking across his face. He began to thrust with more confidence, and Lucy’s free hands began to toy with her breasts once more.

“Is that what I really look like during sex?” Marcus asked. “So embarrassing…” Lucy laughed at him. She didn’t care what she looked like. Feeling Marcus inside of her felt good, and that was all that mattered right now. She found herself grinding her own hips against his in time with his thrusts, forcing his manhood deeper and deeper. A soft moan escaped her lips, the sound of which made Marcus continue with renewed enthusiasm. Whether it was the thrill of the changed positions or the unfamiliarity of their bodies, Lucy was feeling far more aroused than she usually was during sex. From the heavy breathing from her partner, she could tell that Marcus was too.

“I think I’m close. I think? I don’t know I-“ Marcus’ words were cut short by a moan.

“I think you’re close, Marcus. Whenever you want, come inside of me”, Lucy said. She could feel him filling her up, with slow, powerful thrusts, the bed squeaking with the force of each movement. Marcus was about to say something when his words were lost. Lucy felt his member quiver inside of her, a warm spray deep within her. He moaned softly, pulling out of her after the deed was done.

“I’m sorry, that wasn’t for long”, he said, rolling into bed beside her. After taking a moment to find his lips, Lucy placed one long finger across them.

“Shush. No one lasts long on their first time”, she said with a laugh. “That was fun.”

“There’s still something else I’d like to try, though”, Marcus said. She felt his weight above her once more, his hands either side of her head. He planted a kiss on her lips, then slowly kissed her neck. Lucy had never expected a kiss to send such a jolt of pleasure to her sex. Marcus moved lower, his tongue swirling around one nipple, before kissing her bare midriff. For a moment, there was no touch between them, and then Lucy felt his tongue, warm and strong, licking at her clit, his breath warm. The woman gasped. She knew that this felt good, but never expected it to feel as overwhelming as it did now, with Marcus sucking and licking at her womanhood. After he had finished inside of her, her whole body felt sensitive, her sex most of all. A powerful feeling was building inside her as Marcus worked.

She had no chance to speak, her voice being little more than a series of loving, pleasured moans. Marcus lapped at her with passionate strokes. She was reaching a precipice, her unfamiliar body preparing for a release of tension, guided and prompted by Marcus. Then, it hit her. Her toes curled up in ecstasy, her hands squeezing and twisting the bedsheet. Quietly, she called his name as she came.

Later, Marcus cuddled his partner, the two lovers close beneath the sheets.

“So, what do you think? Do you think you’ll take the treatment?” Lucy asked.

“Definitely”, he said, voice closer to her ear. “What about you? Do you think you’d like to do this again?”

“What do you mean?” Lucy asked.

“I think you’ve enjoyed being Lucy more than you let on”, Marcus said teasingly. Lucy flushed with embarrassment.

“Maybe I have”, she said coyly. “But you can’t lie and tell me you’ve not had fun too.”

Marcus laughed, rolling his partner over to kiss her.

“We’ll speak with the doctor in the morning”, Lucy said. “Until then, I’m sure we can think of some other ways to fill the time.”
