Ethan slumped on the couch, scrolling through his phone aimlessly. It had been a boring week, with nothing but mundane work and lackluster nights at home. He needed something to break the monotony—something exciting. His roommate, Lucas, barged into the room, carrying a sleek black box tied with a shimmering silver ribbon.

“What’s that?” Ethan asked, raising an eyebrow.

Lucas grinned. “Something incredible. Found it at that weird antique shop downtown.” He placed the box on the coffee table and gestured for Ethan to open it.

Ethan hesitated but eventually gave in. He untied the ribbon and lifted the lid. Inside was a bodysuit made of the finest black mesh, embedded with thousands of tiny sparkling crystals. It looked like it belonged to a high-end fashion show or maybe a magician’s assistant.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Ethan said, holding it up. The fabric shimmered in the light, almost glowing. “What am I supposed to do with this?”

“Try it on,” Lucas said, his grin widening. “The guy at the shop said it’s... transformative.”

Ethan rolled his eyes. “Yeah, I’m not wearing that.”

Lucas shrugged. “Your loss. But if you’re too scared to try something new...”

That did it. Ethan snatched the suit and headed to his room. “Fine. I’ll prove to you it’s just some overpriced piece of fabric.”

Once inside, Ethan stripped down and hesitated for a moment before stepping into the suit. The fabric felt cool against his skin as he pulled it up, adjusting it over his shoulders. It clung to his body like a second skin, surprisingly comfortable despite its snug fit.

As soon as he zipped it up, a strange warmth spread through him. His skin tingled, and a soft hum filled the room. He looked in the mirror and gasped. His reflection was changing. His muscles softened, his frame slimmed, and his legs elongated. His chest swelled, filling out the bodysuit’s contours perfectly, and his waist cinched in. His face transformed, his jawline softening and his lips plumping into a perfect pout. Long, silky hair tumbled down his back as his eyes sparkled with newfound intensity.

Ethan stumbled back, his hands flying to his face. “What the hell?” he whispered, his voice high and melodic. He turned to the mirror again, barely recognizing the stunning woman staring back at him.

Lucas knocked on the door. “You alright in there? You’ve been quiet.”

Ethan hesitated, then opened the door. Lucas’s jaw dropped. “Holy...” he muttered, taking in Ethan’s transformed appearance. “It worked.”

“What do you mean, ‘it worked’?” Ethan demanded, his new voice trembling. “Change me back!”

Lucas smirked. “The guy at the shop said the suit reveals your true self. Maybe this is who you’ve always been.”

Ethan glared at him. “This isn’t funny, Lucas. Fix this. Now.”

Lucas shrugged. “No can do. The suit’s magic runs its course. You’ll just have to... enjoy it for now.”

Ethan felt a strange pull, an urge to move. His body swayed naturally as he walked back to the mirror, his hips shifting with every step. He struck a pose, his hand resting on his hip, and to his horror, he found himself smiling.

“What’s happening to me?” Ethan murmured.

Lucas leaned against the doorframe, grinning. “Relax. You look incredible. Besides, maybe this is just the excitement you were looking for.”

Ethan wanted to argue, but part of him couldn’t deny the rush he felt. The sparkling suit shimmered in the light, and his reflection exuded confidence and allure. For the first time in a long while, he felt... alive.

“How long does this last?” he asked, glancing at Lucas.

Lucas’s grin widened. “Who knows? Maybe it’ll wear off tomorrow. Or maybe... it won’t.”
