Alice and Dzikan return with new update!

Hello my Sweethearts!

It’s nice to see you again. And I’m really glad to be able to write you. Today I’m here with a new update of our main project Alice.
Alice’s project creation was quite interesting. Today I’ll share one of the inside stories.
What first comes to my mind is the set location where it was shot. It was hard to find the location fitting to the character. First, Mcgee’s interpretation of her world is difficult to implement in reality, unless we are talking about museum exhibitions. )
But we can go with another route. Take as the base classic Alice world. Closer to a fairy tale. At least I vision it so, because at its base Alice’s story is a children's book. Full of wonders, hope and whimsical stories.

That’s why I wanted to find a place that has fantasy properties. At least a bit.
Fun fact that I mentioned in one of my previous posts. When it comes to interior design in photo studios, general public and photographers prefer open empty minimalistic designs. I’d say around 7 years ago studios with interesting designs started to disappear one by one. To our biggest disappointment.
That’s why when you find set locations unique enough you try to cherish them and support as much as you can.
One day I accidentally stumbled on a small studio. I was surfing social media and found a photographer who was created in one certain location. I figured out that it could be his own personal space. And when I reached out to him it turned out that I was right.
The set was a small basement under a multi-storey building, where he lived. I still wonder how he managed to get this space. )
Since he had this space he step by step renovated the place into his personal photo studio. To our convenience and according to his ideas it was decorated in witch’s den style with magic books, suspicious looking ingredients, skulls etc.
I know it may be too far fetched to use in Alice photoshoot. But since we are working with Mcgee’s dark interpretation with the right light scheme, chosen style of photography and small changes in design here and there (owner gave us an opportunity to reposition everything according to our vision) it would work.

Downsides were the small space we operated on and the basement itself was pretty chilly. Another disappointing moment might be the fact that it would be hard to use it for other ideas. But it’s already a gone opportunity, because we are no longer live in russia. )

Technically speaking, as Alice herself, we “went down the rabbit hole” too to make this project. Because when you shoot your project the time changes its properties. In the beginning it slows down to snail’s pace, but at the end it rushes faster than anything. You even perceive things differently on set. In a way it feels like you were in a different dimension for a couple of hours.

I really like how our Alice turned out. This project took a year to be prepared and waited half a year to be shot and even more time to see the daylight.
What I love the most is the fact that our Alice looks really close to her in-game design. And it makes me proud.
I hope you’ll enjoy ou Alice photoshoot when it’ll be finished properly! It has so many great images, that I’m not sure we’ll be able to finish all of the in one given month. But we’ll see. )

Have a great day! Have a great upcoming weekend! And as always stay happy and healthy!

P.S.: I planned to write this post earlier, but I had a lot of work on my gamedev job. That's why two updates. Dressed and undressed. I hope you'll enjoy both! )
