Beauty of Vengerberg! [Yennefer main photoshoot update]

Hello my Sweethearts!

It's finally weekend time! I hope, you'll rest properly by doing things you love the most. After all it's a proper way to restore your mental health.
If you ask me how I'll spent at least part of my weekend - I want to play FF14 all day and a tasty beef Burger.

I am glad to know that in general you like the direction we are moving with Yen. I was worried a bit on how you would meet our version. After all it took us about 5 years to accomplish it and your anticipation (if it was there) would be high. Maybe too high for our Yen to top it off. Even so I think our model looks awesome as this character.
But the more we work on post-production and recieve feedback, more confident I get. Thank you for your support and love.

Here comes random workaholic fact. On the day of Yen shoot we had planned another photoshoot. One in the early morning, another late in the evening. Between both photoshoots I needed to work on my side job and prepare our Yen "look". It was hard for model too, because she arrived to the set right after her daily job.
Both of us were veeery tired, but used up all our strength to make the photoshoot happened.
This is where some of my regrets started to mess with me again.
Yennefer was the last project I worked on before leaving Russia. It was very important for me to shoot it no matter what. As I said in one of my posts - it's gestalt that was needed to be close for my minds sake. Something that will help me to move forward with head high.
But I didn't consider basic thing like tiredness. And the fact that Tao won't be on the set.
I think I spent most of the time pulling the light sources around and catching my breath. I was catching myself on thought, that I can't focus on scene and pose that I want at the moment. Yes, it's hard when you tired and need to do most of the work alone. Models usually don't help on set.

I believe that we could shot Yennefer better. And be more efficient with light sources. Especially with that, because the light on the model is very hard to work with on post-production. Too complicated in some parts and takes extra time/attention to fix. As you know we're all human beings with flaws, so when you have body part that needs to be edited to look better with complicated light on that area - that's hell of a work.

Here are some examples (that I can remember right away).
If you're office worker you're probably sitting all day behind your desk. Eventually, after few years and more you get older, you'll start to notice that you have "calluses like" part on your lower butt cheeks. Skintone there visibly darker, more flat and rough when you touch it. Totally natural way of things going. But it's visible on photos, which means you as the retoucher need to remove them and reshape booty.
Or another totally natural example is varicose veins on legs. You'll get them, if your job demands a lot of walking and lifting. Some people have them earlier, some later, depends on your body/health. As the retoucher you also need to remove them, because it doesn't look good on the photo.
If you're in general nervous person, sometimes after huge mental stress your body may start to develop psoriasis on your skin. Usually light toned spots all over the body. And again you need to remove them and even the skin tone.

Once again these are just some examples( there are many) of complicated body parts/reasons for them. Add mixed light on the skin and now you're having a lot of "happy" time reshaping/redrawing/fixing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not being hard on myself. I actually really like how our Yen looks when polished, but it could be better - more varied in poses, set, light and less complicated to retoucher (Tao). And our model could be not after long work day - you can see how tired she is on raw files.  These are my regrets.

But, oh my, our Yennefer is gorgeous. I smile every time seeing freshly finished new images.
What do you think?

I hope, this post will be interesting to read.
Please, have  a great weekend and be happy!
