Hello my Sweethearts!
As I promised, here are few photos from the backstage. )
There are not much funny stories from set of Ciri, but more common things we face every time shooting outdoors. To most of them we got used to, but still it feels strange to encounter them. )
So, today's topic will be mainly about random encounters you'll may always face shooting outdoors.
If you negotiated with certain place and thier respective management staff to have shoot on, like cafes or restaurants, there always will be one person from service staff, who'll act the role of big boss and try to interrupt your shooting process. "Who are you? You can't shoot here. You'll have only 20 minutes and I'll kick you." - lines like that will always appear. They'll call to management many times, even so we make the call by ourselves previously and gave phone to them to talk and clear all their questions.
We call it in Russia "The watchman's syndrome". I understand the staff being cautious and giving big props for being attentive. BUT. People who go beyond their credentials tend to be unpolite and disturbing.
We have restaurant called "Old castle" - strange combination of tavern looking interior, but with cheesy plastic modern windows or parts of decoration. But overall good looking and very suited to our Ciri photoshoot.
Tao agreed with the management to shoot on day off and we had as much time as we needed. When we actually came here, thanks to one of service staff, who interrupted with our work too much and made too many calls to people we negotiated with, our time reduced to 1 hour. Which was not much time for proper shoot.
Still don't know what we did wrong or why he behaved like that. Because chef of the restaurant was pretty good about everything and actually tried to helps us, asking guy give us a break.
"The watchman's syndrome" is too strong with that person. )
If you are shooting outdoors, there always will be passerby who'll stop and start staring at your work, especially when we shoot spicy stuff. "May I help you? - No. - Don't want to sound rude, but may I ask you to leave, because it interrupts our photoshoot? - Why? I disturb you? You are shooting something? - Both answers are "Yes" " and so on and so on, until they'll finally leave the scene.
I lost count on how many times our second photographer needed to peacefully negotiate with such people. Few times people got agressive, but I guess calm words and sometimes physical argument in hand help. "Today I got older for another year, phew. Why my parents didn't born me as big muscular asian dude, maybe there won't be any problems?" - Tao always says. )
Last time I shared with my upset on not having hourse for our Ciri photoshoot. And it got a lot of response from you. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feels. It helped me to finally leave the situation behind. )
There was one occasion, where we almost got the hourse from one place. Instructor was cool about the shoot, except owners of the hourse after they found out, what we'll shoot. It was uncertain till the last moment, actually till the day when we were having photoshoot in first location.
We prepared two shooting plans for both scenarios, but being in hard situation was a bit nerve recking. I still don't know, what people took so long to give us thier final response and decision.
What I wanted to say, is not to be too upset, when things like that happen. Plan B should always be there )
For our Ciri we wanted to achieve drawing or paint like style. Hope it'll apear to you so, when I'll show you final look. )
There are more photos in backstage and more stories to share, but I'll leave it for later. )
Hope it wasn't boring to read all this. Acording to people in internet and sexy content creators, nobody read big texts in posts and mostly will skip everything.
But I believe, all time and effort put in them, are not in vain. You showing me that, and I'm grateful!
Have a great day. Please be healthy and happy!
