Guide To Meta Points V1.3

A guide to meta-points and how they work. Since there have been a lot of questions on Patreon and Discord, this guide is meant to help cover the scope of what is possible with a meta-point. Otherwise peoples' heads might just explode. A shoutout to Cart Puller and Collateral on Discord for making me work through everything.

A meta-point or god-point is a wish at its core. You ask for three things, and the Almighty System will provide three options to pick from. You can pick and see the option first, before making your second request. But you cannot undo requests or take back stupid requests.

They are RARE. You cannot cheese your way to a meta-point in any way. It is the personal attention and reward from the Almighty System when it believes you have done something worth a meta-point. Knowing about meta-points and working out their reward criteria makes it more difficult to earn one. A person cannot be handheld into a meta-point.

The following are speculated ways or ways that have been suggested by the Astrologer to earn a meta-point. Be aware that this from the Astrologer at this point in the story, chapter 290.

1. The Almighty System sending a monster after you, aka Death
2. Rushing into a level 4 zone and killing a level 5 boss monster
3. Stopping the city upgrade level 4 attack by oneself
4. Climbing to the top of a tower

As for the scope of what you can ask for, here is a non-comprehensive list of things that are comparative in value. The System will always offer something, but it may not be what you want, if you ask for something outside of the scope of the System and will default to specific options.

1. To make a single skill innate. You can put however much energy you want into it, channeling. It has all the upgrades and does not use a skill slot. The skill can use any 4 of the adjacent energy types from the type chart at will. The skill will not go beyond what it is. A touch skill will still be a touch skill. A mental skill will be weaker than a skill that creates a physical attack for the same amount of energy.

2. A multiple of 10x in a single stat. A cost reduction across all stat purchases by 5, since there is more choice. Transferring stats from one stat to another with a penalty applied. Anything involving stats, cannot exceed this limit of 10x in a single stat. You could get 3x in all stats, this is retroactive while the discount is not.

3. An increase of skill slots by 3. Permanently, with no restrictions.

4. A unique or custom skill that goes beyond everything else. This would include passive skills. There would 4-5 limitations, including a use limitation. An example would be Energetic Knowledge Absorbtion, what the Ritualist did with crystals, but System safe. Combining skills would fall into this category. You would be asking for something completely new, not something enhanced. This includes passive skills.

5. To remove a limitation on a skill. To make Cold Imbue no longer touch based. To allow an innate skill to store energy to use it at a single point in time.

6. A word of power to enhance all skills and impact energy directly. Altering them in some way or applying a stat to skills to enhance the skill's power.

7. Innate knowledge. Like knowing how to make summon tethers unsensible in any way. This gives knowledge, not ability. One would still have to train extensively to make use of this knowledge.

8. Special ability. Like super high resistance to curse damage. While immunity is not possible, by the time you are cursed, you are probably physically dead. Being more sensitive to certain types of energy or being able to adjust ones internal energy.

9. An answer to a single non-run on question. One may pose a question to the Almighty System itself and get an answer. The preview will not hint at the answer in any way, just let a person know an answer will be given. Yes, one could ask how to earn more meta-points. There is no guarantee that the answer is a good answer or one you can make use of, but you get a comprehensive answer. Asking to increase the value of a meta-point would be an exploit, and would just give you the answer to the question of how to earn meta-points. No poison chalice.

10. Resurrection or teleport. You can get one and only one extra life or single use command word instant teleportation. No phylactery or horcruxes. No time travel. Requesting any of these things would have the System offer one extra life. This includes teleporting or resurrecting someone you know.

11. Return to Earth. It is offered if requested, but no other information provided.

12. A single item from Earth. Ask and it will be delivered. Animals, a single person, a nuclear bomb. How would you even use a nuke anyways, but you could get an ICBM if you really wanted one. One single item can be asked and delivered. Nothing from fiction. The size limit is an ICBM, so no aircraft carrier.

13. A single item that can be purchased from the store will be enchanted by the System to the max possible level and of the highest material quality. No spatial manipulation. No temporal manipulation. No unlimited ammo. A single special enchantment would be allowed like applying a stat to a projectile. Or locking the item to a specific person. A growth weapon would be a special enchantment, and would get 1/10th of any stats you purchase while holding it.

14. A unique pet. Would be limited to the standard pet rules. To eventually be revealed. The pet would level up with the person, it would be unique in this regard.

15. A single mega-attack. Asking for a zone to be attacked would have the System teleport 10 meters of a substance above the zone in question to crash down. Lava, water, or even mayonnaise. Or ask for a giant meteor to strike a zone. The effect would happen, any resulting effects would take place, and then the zone would reset when no longer observed.

16. Permanent physical transformation. Be aware that the change will happen and you will live, for one moment. But anything not based in physical reality would require knowledge of energy manipulation. Which would be another meta-point for the innate knowledge. But you could ask to become a furry and yes, you would still have access to the store.

17. Asking for anything with the Almighty System itself in person like a marriage, kiss, or hand holding would give the offer of a unique item. A compass called System's Will that points in a direction. No other information would be given about the item even if chosen.

18. Asking to be the Almighty System will get you a unique option, Avatar of the System. No other information is given.

19. You can ask to be teleported to where the Almighty System is located.

20. You can alter a zone's terrain permanently in a non-negative manner.

21. You can ask for a monster to hunt people down. The monster would be high level.

22. You can ask for an item in the store that is universal to all stores like music. As long as it doesn't help, an earth item, and has limited combat applications. You could ask for a book to be sold from all System Stores. You cannot get royalties of any kind for any item.

23. Asking for the Almighty System to do something insulting to itself or insulting the Almighty System will result in the removal of the meta-point.

BANNED: Nothing that involves any spatial or temporal manipulation of any kind. Nothing that impacts the function of the Systemic Lands. No altering arrivals, no altering the cities to make them non-functional, no mass altering stat or skills, no mass altering crystals of any kind. No removing the light source. No asking to end the Systemic Lands.

Meta-points can and will stack. That means a person with 2 meta points could theoretically get a 100x multiplier in a single stat or have an innate custom skill. Or removing a core limitation of a custom skill. A person with 10,000 in a stat could have 1,000,000 stat points in that stat with 2 meta points. Or stack up special enchantments on a single item.

Again, they are RARE. The Astrologer only knows of 3 people in 10 years who have earned 4 meta-points across all of them and one of them is himself.
