It's been a looong time since i last watched this show so this was a very interesting watch ! I think the tone and style of the show are significantly different from the other SG shows they clearly wanted to try something different Aside from some overtly melodramatic behaviour by some of the cast i liked pretty much everything from the 3 episode premiere I'm really looking forward to watch this show and your reactions to it , enjoy !

At this point, the Battlestar Galactica reboot had become Syfy's top rated show so they gave Brad Wright orders to make a Stargate show more like that. Near the Atlantis end, I believe the episode where Keller swapped bodies there was a deleted scene of McKay & Zalenka walking down a hall. They were arguing over what the 9th Chevron on a gate was for. Zalenka believed it had to have a purpose because there was a single 9 chevron gate address in the Atlantis database & there had to be a purpose as to why the Ancients put a 9th chevron on the gates. McKay believed it did nothing because they tried dialing the 9 chevron address & nothing happened. It was supposed to plant the seeds for Universe, but the episode was too long & the scene had nothing to do with the episode so it was cut Icarus base was the SGC set just redressed to make it look different. The game Eli was playing was made by the team that was developing the never finished Stargate MMO. they used their unfinished code to create some basic game images for the episode

Fraternizing between an officer and someone under their command is not allowed. If Sam had transferred out of SG1, she and Jack could have been together. Fraternizing amongst fellow enlisted is allowed as long as one doesn’t come under the others command, then it is frowned upon and could result in one being transferred away. Will have to wait and see if there 2 we saw, getting busy, are legally doing it or not. Yes, Lou Diamond Phillips was in an episode of Psych you recently reacted too. He is of Filipino/Scotts-Irish decent. His being Filipino can make saying whether he is Asian or Latino confusing. In general, the Philippines is considered to be an Asian country by location. So, it that sense, you are correct. But it was ruled by the Spanish for over 300 years, resulting in their culture to shift a more Latin. This includes their language (of which there are 7 different languages considered to be native) to have strong Latin ties. As well as their primary religion being Roman Catholic. But Spain is not the only influence seen in this country. The country has also been ruled by both Japan and the United States. The US had one of its largest Naval bases there for over 50 years. This has resulted in a large amount of genetic racial mixing going on in this country. But due to the success of his break out role playing Richie Valens in the movie La Bamba, many fans to this day believe him to be a born Latino, but is not. Although a popular pro-Latino website has made him an Honorary Latino. So we got Rumpelstiltskin, The Calvary and Richie Valens (La Bamba singer) in this episode. Interesting. Jack has three stars on his uniform shoulder-boards, making him a Lieutenant General. That’s 2 ranks higher than he was in his last appearance on SG1. As you guessed in SGA finale, actor Don S. Davis, who played General Hammond, died of a heart attack one year prior to SGU's first episode. Yes, an apt comparison to Lost In Space in the writing style for this episode.
