Just FYI, Star Trek is a Paramount show and unless Shannan goes the zip file route with those shows, Star Trek will sadly not be making a comeback.

Alright.. I watched this a few days ago now and I'm still kinda annoyed so I'll just put a few notes here:
1. You mentioned at the end of the episode that you didn't like that they (Shawn mostly) were making fun of people who go to comic cons ...Well according to this very episode ..Henry (Shawn's dad) told Shawn off for being into comic books and dressing up like a superhero since Henry thought cops were the real heroes
If anyone is to blame for Shawn's bad behavior during the episode it's Henry for filling his head with nonsense at a young age
Normally I'd say it's a bit out of character for Shawn to react this way since I feel he often loves to annoy the shit outta his dad
But the episode needed a bit of opposition to Gus's love for comic books ..It made the banter between the guys funny ...It's after all meant to all be taken as light-hearted fun
Hell they got George Takei in this bish... I'm a big fan of Star Trek (Not so much the OG show but still) and their interactions with him were HILARIOUS!
Lots of comedy is about poking fun at things and learning to laugh about it instead of complaining ...It's the people who complain about things that have been slowly killing comedy
And the show is in NO. way to be meant to be taken as serious as you did this episode ..Try to remember that
Which leads me to the thing that pissed me off
2. The birth was unrealistic? ...Really bish? ...Are we really doing this? ...Really?
Man this made me yell at my monitor several times at 3 in the morning
It's a TV show... Not only that... It's a comedy ...It's fun and light hearted
Complaining that the birth of the chief's kid wasn't realistic just felt like I was right back to watching Gotham Knights (eye twitch)
There was no need to nitpick ...It's a comedy show ...If you want realistic births then go watch some medical drama ..And even THEN. it won't be realistic since an episode only lasts 45 minutes tops
OFCOURSE. they skipped past all the intricate bits when it came to the child birth ...Why the hell would they show all that?? This isn't Grey's Anatomy! ...Although I would have loved to have seen Lassie actually faint instead of just being told he fainted
Anyways ...I just had to get that out there
Hopefully you'll enjoy the next episode and you'll have a few laughs about the stupid shit these 2 dorks get into
That is all.

Pineapple reference: after buying two churros, a women with a printed pineapple bag can be seen behind Shawn and Gus.

Many of the character names are taken from the "Batman" comic book series: Dent (Harvey Dent), Talia (Talia al-Ghul), Leslie (Dr. Leslie Thompkins), Malone (Matches Malone), Breyfogle (Norm Breyfogle, an artist who has worked on several "Batman" projects), and Rob and Don (Sons of Batman in The Dark Knight Returns comics). Shawn also makes up a person named Robin (duh) and makes a joke about one of the babies in the hospital being named Damien (Batman's son).
When talking to George Takei mentions a movie about whales, Burton says Star Trek 4. The weird sound in the background when Shawn finds the note saying Judgement Day is the noise made by the Space Whale ship in ST4.

SULU!!!! I have got to request at least 2 Star Trek The Original Series episodes. Necessary for your nerd card. hmmm, since I won't be doing Batman 1966 periodically as I had planned, maybe I will do ST TOS instead, that one I don't mind doing in order.
He ripped the comic on purpose, had that been reality, friend or no, he would have been on the ground getting pummeled. If not by Gus, then any other fan of that comic nearby. If for no other reason than the disrespect.
Yes, labor appeared to be way too short (although we don't really know how much time passed between water break and birth due to cut away).
Also, for a new born, that baby was HUGE and way too clean. Babies come out bluish and cover in gunk and with slightly oval heads.

i liked this ep most because of George Takei. Funny interactions with him. I am Star Trek fan. Love the newer movies, JJ Abrahams ones. And the classic stuff.
