Police Station designed look is loosely based on the real Santa Barbara police station design, I believe.

For Chuck, the Case of the Week was often much more secondary to the plot; just a backdrop, with parallels to his personal life that always conveniently tied in with what was going on in his life. With Psych, Shawn is basically a zany Sherlock Holmes with ADHD.... which, may just be Sherlock Holmes.. Psych aired on the USA network and was on at the same time as Monk, which was another comedic procedural series, also on USA. This was also around the same time Burn Notice was on the air, which was another USA series. You've seen a little bit of Burn Notice, so you know there was some irreverent quirkiness to the plot of that show; though not quite to the degree of Psych or Monk. Man, I miss the days of TV in the early aughts - Monk, Psych, Chuck, Burn Notice, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Life on Mars, Arrested Development. The original CSI. Most of SG1, all of Atlantis; Charmed, Smallville and so many others. It's crazy to look back at how many original shows I was willing to even try back then. Nowadays I'm rewatching shows or watching reactors watch shows I've seen (because the reactors are awesome...! ππ)
