Audience interaction moment

I like Honours, Honours are fun. However, Honours are also right bastards in that I have the cultural weight of a million different title systems in my head constantly trying to steer me towards (you did X new thing first!) and (you killed something really big, well done!)

In universe, Honours are supposed to be rewards for someone doing something statistically anomalous for their stage of development on a multiversal scale (not like, universal level feats, but like world or country level if performance was averaged across everyone). This is on the assumed basis that people don't know they exist (so intentional Honours hunting doesn't make them harder to achieve)

I have a fair few ideas, but there's a whole lot of variety that I know I will be missing out on because one man who chains himself to his computer in a windowless office consuming a diet solely made of progression fantasy and litrpg can only have so many original ideas.

So i'm going to pull a Macronomicon. Back when I was his patron for The Outer Sphere a long time in the past, he would regularly encourage people to come up with ideas for skills (one of mine made it into the book! I can't remember which one though, it was a while ago). I found this super fun, and got me really hyped to theory craft, so i'm gonna do the same thing.

So, I thought I would ask you guys for fun ideas for Honours--especially those that aren't for 'doing alt progression line first or bestest' or 'killing something, like, super hard'. (I will still accept these if they're interesting, novel, or just something that I will facepalm for not considering earlier). Bonus points if you have an idea for how future ones can be earned if its something that makes sense to be a series.

I'll do it a little different, in that I am primarily using this as outsourced brainstorming. If something is perfect, i'll blantantly use it, but otherwise i'll use it as inspiration.

Things I am interested in -

Additional bonus triggers - what makes sense to give someone a bonus, other than doing something first, solo, or under X tier/level?

Minor Honours - these are things that don't necessarily require a lot of skill or danger, and may or may not be difficult to achieve, but are still worthy of recognition because of how rarely someone managed to pull it off. (example, spending a year in the depths unclassed--Kaius could have sat in a safe corner of layer 1 and hunted normal beasts for food to get this.)

Normal Honours - if you had a culture of people like Kaius and Porkchop, the very best, hardworking, and lucky would start to achieve these, which would likely snowball into more.

Major Honours - If you had that same culture, the very brightest once in a generation stars might achieve a couple of these over their lifetime. (both this and the previous explanation would happen more frequently in an integration scenario)

Don't forget the passive rewards!

Below is a screenshot of the scaling I use for honours-
https://imgur.com/3QEDnUa

Rewards: If your idea serves as direct inspiration for something I put to page, i'll give you two months of patreon, if it end's up in the book as is, i'll give you six and throw you up in the relevant books acknowledgements when I eventually publish.

Minor honour An honour for attaining 1000 in any one stat in the 1st tier. Which i think is almost impossible without several honours. If ur class gives u 3 in the stat en a legacy 1 free stat which you all put in the same stat you get 800 at lvl 200. Then you need enough honours for a 25% bonus to that stat for an even 1000. Or without the free stats you would need like 100 bonus stats an a 45% bonus from the honours. You could always get some stats from natural treasures. Or maybe there are classes which give 5 stat points to a single stat per level and what i say makes no sense. Title could be for: Endurance: Made of Adamant Vitality: Undying Strength: Titan Dexterity: Speed of Lightning Intelligence: Made of mana Willpower: Unshakable With each one maybe giving a boost to the relevant resource. Example: Intelligence will now give 11 mana per stat point instead of 10. Or maybe a small boost to the effectiveness of the stat like greater beast blooded did. Not the bonus stats but the evolution of the body that came with it. I can also imagine gaining a normal honour for getting 2 of a pair like intelligence an willpower or endurance and vitality. For a slighty bigger boost maybe. Or even all of them. Something like: Young king or something like that with a bigger boost or evolution again.

le moi

Some honour for uplifting your race? Like if kaius is seen as the main propogator for a full legacy, honours and the way to attain pillars. Which causes significant growth in the human race as a whole. With a title like: The light of humanity With a bonus for exp maybe. Not sure about that

le moi

Slay someone of a sapient race that has a higher rarity class and is a higher tier than you.

Prem Chanumalla

Minor Honour: FUCKING VHAXANISH!!! - There are some inventions that simply should not be spread. Calculus, Tax Codes, Well-Done Steaks - the creators of these monstrosities are among the most hated individuals in the history of sapient life. But none of them, NONE OF THEM, have created anything as diabolical and convoluted as the utter lunacy that is the Vhaxanish runic language. Your willingness to suffer its nightmarish syntax and unparalleled complexity for (X) straight days is worthy of an Honour. Hope it was worth it.

Nùmenor

I feel like there is also a lot of potential for honours for exceptional accomplishments in more mundane professions ie. inventing a new type of food that becomes a staple in a region of x size or discovering a new chemical element.

Nùmenor

Nascence: Return from clinical death unaided.

Enshrinement of Knowledge (II): You understand that keeping the system granted knowledge of Aspects to a small group aligned with yourself is an incredible boon which will strengthen you, whilst keeping your enemies in the dark. You also understand that this is shortsighted and unsustainable. You have (barring extraordinary and unforeseen circumstances) ensured the survival, growth, and propagation of the information contained in the Aspects Information Packet by wilfully and willingly providing it to at least 5 different and distinct factions (i.e. elves, dwarves, delvers guild, etc) either personally or by proxy. You have also provided this information to at least one faction you are strongly opposed to or are in direct conflict with. I think it’s pretty interesting since most of the honours are about doing something difficult but that mostly comes through physical or magical challenges but the difficulty with this is giving up an advantage, or more accurately, make sure everyone has it. Including your enemies. I’m not sure what the reward would be but maybe something like if you’re in combat, your enemies’ aspects will be 10% less potent or something? Seems more than fair if you’re the reason they have aspects in the first place.

Dungeon related honor ideas: The Proper Way: You understand that while deeper entrances may make life easier they are not The Proper Way of Delving the Dungeon. Progress through the dungeon one layer at a time for *X* layers without leaving. The Perfectionist: Kill everything, find all treasures and explore the entirety of a given zone without leaving. Settler: Build a base of operations in the Depths that survived for *X* days. Minimum layer: *Y* Glyph-binding related honor ideas: The Innovator: Some may be content with following a set path, but that is simply not you. Design a unique (Never seen in your Cohort) Glyph that could count as a *rarity* rarity Class skill. Mage of Another Kind: Some may think Glyphs are just another expression of conventional spells, but you understand that some things simply work better that way. Create a new unique (Never seen in your Cohort) spell of *rarity* rarity through Glyph Binding. Adaptation: The greatest advantage of Glyph Binding is the ability to prepare for anything. Modify a pre-existing Glyph Binding Spell without losing efficiency. General honor ideas: Traveller of Worlds: Some may think their world is all there is, you know better. Be the first local to reach beyond your homeworld. The Adventure of a Lifetime: Legends are born through hard work and determination, but a lofty goal never hurts. Complete a closed set of objectives (Quest) that immortalizes you in the collective memory of a *area* sized area.

Doubledoor

Major Honor - Walk -time = speed You have done the impossible, you did not reverse time, you did not time travel, instead you moved so fast that before you even had the though you already moved. Your speed transcended time a fictional concept and somehow moved slower then said fictional concept. You moved negative. Grants minor boost to anything that helped accomplish the feat For this situation MC would have used Danger Sense, Dexterity, Wisdom, and other movement abilities, plus some potions. Making potions have a better effect for him as a side effect of the reward.

Moon Winchester

May be extremely relevant to what's happening currently but I was thinking of various things before posting any one. Minor Honor: Against The Odds 1 - granted when a cohort of at least 3 and at most 5 defeats a group of enemies over 100 times their size and of at least 10 levels higher in a single combat without rest. +3 to each of Dexterity, Endurance, and Vitality and Grants a slight bonus to spatial awareness in combat. Something that's probably really far off if it's possible Spellform Inventor- (Glyph Binding) 1- Granted to those who invent Three new spells in a Glyph Binding Language. +5 to Intelligence and Wisdom. Grants a slight reduction to the mana cost of spells invented.

Jusenkyo

The Dispenser I: help another achieve 10 honors. The Dispenser II: help 5 others achieve a total of 50 honors. THE Dispenser III: help another minimum of 100 unique entities achieve a .minimum of 1,000 honors. As a variation this could apply to Legacy skills and/or Aspects, integration goals. It makes logical sense that the system awards those that help achieve end-game goals.

Koa

I think the Ianmus specific honors for having an epiphany incorporating some of the knowledge he gained for Kaius into his freeform magic or even discovering fluid mana made glyphs to reinforce his spells has some merit for a minor honor. On the other side, there are azarinth healer style honors : Survive contact with an extradimensional existance / exotic mana rift Heal x times you health pool in 24 hours (fate points has that type of titles) Beat a swarm of tier 2 enemies while still t1 Etc

Elvis Malkic

No ideas ...just a old boomer enjoying a great story . Do you .

Rick

Because i cant stop thinking about Kaius and Porkchop Fusion into a Werbear: - fuse with an soulbound Creature into a Wer Creature or Chimera. I just really Like the idea of them Fusion and bringing Down Thunder and Jade

Julius Stöger

This type of honor would be quite specific to someone like Ianmus (and may alter your plans), but I always figured he’d be able to figure out something about Kaius’ rune system. So something like: magic jack- minor honor for successful incorporation of all styles of magic in combat. Rune unifier- major honor for discovery of unique common principles in runes. This I think would fit Ianmus (or honestly, probably Kaius’ father if he were alive, rip) for discovering a new principle in runes creation or inscription. While Kaius was the first to bind glyphs to himself, through study of these new runes perhaps several of the runic languages being used on their earth can be combined and simplified. I think this would warrant major honors with perks in either the discovery of similarities in runes or effectiveness in combining runic systems. Finally, Mind over Matter or Runic Soul- an honor for Kaius inscribing through his will and second mind an entire rune at once, rather than a slow etching, during a battle. A power scaling thing where despite large mana/will costs, a body glyph can be instantly applied. The runic soul would be, of course, to etch out runes on a soul through one’s own power. Also, for Porkchop, cuz now I feel like I’m being unfair: Copycat- through the soul bond, porkchop uses a skill/rune/magic that typically Kaius uses. I figure this would be something he gets as he is naturally more experienced with the soul bond.

PardonMe

Took me awhile to see if anyone had mentioned discovery related honors. I think system/ integration discovery honors could good. I was thinking this too. He didn’t really get who Ekum was and the multiverse aspect didn’t even occur to him. I think some level of understanding/discovering where their classes come from and things like that could be cool.

gray matter

even more glyph ones, cus I can't help myself -weave through X number of higher leveled enemies without a single injury using a movement glyph -disable/stun X number of enemies at once/in one fight with offensive glyphs -use X number of spells in close combat with a higher leveled enemy (not a glyph specific one, I just think he is probably the first in the world using so many spells in close combat and it should be an honor) -use a movement glyph to steal from a higher leveled enemy unnoticed -be the first to develop conciousness in a glyph linked weapon "glyph: one shot, one kill" -kill an equal leveled enemy with a single offensive glyph

Zurko

some more glyph ones -use X amount of stored mana on glyphs in a single fight while X level (basically having high mana for your level) I actually think that should be applied to all stats, like having 300 strength for a low level and as a certain race should be a minor honor. -use X number of different glyphs in a single fight while at level X "catch me if you can" -use movement glyphs to run circles around a higher leveled enemy "inside out" -release a glyph inside of a higher leveled enemy, killing them -phase through a higher leveled enemy with a movement glyph -run X distance with a movement glyph during a fight -destroy/counter a spell of a higher leveled caster with one or more glyphs -teach someone else how to weave a glyph(first on world) -weave a glyph for someone else (first on world) -go a whole fight against a higher leveled enemy with no injuries while In close combat using a movement glyph -dodge X number of attacks from a higher leveled enemy in one fight

Zurko

some glyph related ones. -kill an enemy above your level using only glyphs -kill multiple enemies at your level using only glyphs "in the thick of it" -fight in close combat for a long period of time using only glyphs "down but not out" -use a movement glyph to save your life on the verge of death "glyph sharpshooter" -kill an enemy with a glyph used at maximum range -slay x number of enemies with glyphs (total # of all time) "evening the odds" -use glyphs to win a fight against a caster of higher level "mana burn is for losers" -use all your glyphs and your full reserves of mana in quick succession

Zurko

since he is the only one on his world using glyphs, does that mean the bar to earn honors for that is really low? like since there is no average yet, everything he does using glyphs is 'exceeding the average'

Zurko

Here's another healing one: heal a person more than 200% (or some multiple) in a battle. So they would have been dead twice without healing.

JJ

Could also have Unseen - defeat a notable enemy without them being aware of you.

Dennis

17. Well traveled - minor Travel n leagues in a day under your own power. (scalable) (would have to be a high enough number that people don't just reach it. also maybe limit by rank.) reward: faster travel/movement outside of combat? bonus might be extension to small partyor sth 18. Well sailed - minor samesies except over water. might be stretching the definition of "under your own power", cuz boats

BerciTheBeast

For minor, normal and major Honour I need more time I still have a real life lmao

Achis74

I understand that when you mention "honour," you refer to feats of strength, combat, and creation (such as the glyph-based one). Correct me if I’m wrong, but here’s my take on your points: Additional Bonus Triggers: You already mentioned First, Solo, and Team achievements at Tier X/Level (noted for myself). Here are my additional suggestions: Multiple: Achievements involving multiple targets, like killing several beasts with a single attack or within a specific time frame. Consistency: Performing a feat consistently, such as staying unclassed in the Depths for a prolonged period or studying an Aspect for 10 consecutive days. Efficiency: Completing a challenge in a highly efficient manner, like Kaius defeating a classed opponent while remaining unclassed. Exceeding Expectations: Surpassing what is normally expected, such as Kaius killing the assassin spider despite the difficulty. Difficulty: Overcoming challenges with a difficulty setting (e.g., completing a dungeon on "Hell" difficulty instead of "Easy"). Comeback: Achieving victory after being at a severe disadvantage—though I'm unsure about extreme cases, like winning a fight with only a torso left. Strategic: Using intelligence and tactics to win, similar to the Trojan Horse strategy. Unique Solutions: Solving problems in unconventional ways, like crafting an arm out of glyphs mid-challenge or flooding a volcanic biome to conquer it. First to Discover: Being the first to find a dungeon or a unique challenge (this could be merged into the First category you mentioned). Maintaining First Place: Holding the top spot in a leaderboard or record system for an extended period, like a cohort ranking.

Achis74

Most of the honors suggested more suited for Kaius so here's a healing ones Tis but a flesh wound - heal/regenerate an allys lost appendage during a fight Snatch life from the jaws of death - Bring an ally back from the brink of death

Simpledinosaur

while still below level 50 killing something level 50 in less than 6 seconds

Ricky Kukowski

50/100 levels in the same skill in a day One Step at a Time: get a Common skill to the highest rarity without combining it

Khanalas

A fun one for Porkchop could be something like: Ship of Theseus - Regenerate every part of your body over the course of a single fight. The idea being that he's supposed to be healed and recover a lot in any given fight so he could theoretically replace every single part of his body with one brutal and long enough. It could be Major reward since the healing required would be pretty intense and the risk in getting it would be very high. The reward could be a boost to all forms of health regeneration or a boost to the stat the governs health in general.

Travis G

Reward for spreading info packet = free info packet? :O (pretty please?) (Then he can get the legacy info as well haha xD)

BerciTheBeast

Phew! That took a while. Here are some, I might add some later. Statistically improbable, you say? 1. Horde of snake eyes - Minor Roll a 1 on a fair 6-sided die 5 times in a row without outside intervention. (scalable both with die-sides and with the number of consecutive rows) 2. Copy hand - Minor Get dealt the same hand of cards from a standard deck 2 times in a row without outside intervention. (scalable with number of consecutive hands) 3. To touch upon a star - Minor Get hit by a falling space rock. (scalable with number of occurences and potentially with size of space rock) 4. Wrath of the skies - Minor/Normal (?) Get hit by lightning and live. - scalable with number of hits - the living bit might be conditional upon stats - what makes it improbably - there should _probably_ be something in there that takes into acount worn metal, since that makes it more likely to get hit 5. Coin flipper - Minor Flip a round coin and have it land and stabilize on its edge without outside intervention. (potentially scalable with number of occurences. Coin might not need to be round) 6. Green luck - Minor Find 2 4-leaf clovers (or local equivalent) growing next to each other without outside intervention. (potentially scalable with number of clovers) (Reward: idk, plant sense? for useful plants or ingredients. maybe boost existing.) 7. Beginner's luck - Minor/Normal (?) Produce a masterwork in a field despite possessing little to no training or skills. (scalable with number of fields and masterworks) 8. Friends with death - Minor/Normal (?) Survive n genuine assassination attempts by appropriately skilled individuals. (scalable with number of assassination attempts and/or skill of assassins) 9. An avalanche of bodies - Minor/Normal (?) Survive a stampede of appropriately leveled beasts. (stat dependent) 10. Double rainbow - Minor Witness a double rainbow. (scalable with number of rainbows) 11. Good guess - Minor Correctly guess the properties/attributes of an object or creature without skill use or extensive prior training. Potential reward: ability to identify stuff if not already present or an improvement to existing one (or at least the information). 12. One man army/Against all odds - Normal Win a battle against an army of creatures with an average level equal to or higher than yours while being outnumbered 100 to 1. 13. Omen of virility - Minor Find/crack a tripple-yolk regular egg. Reward: Idk better buffs from consumabled made? 14. Honours student/Honours collector Get 10 honours before lvl 100. (scalable) (Reward: Sense of how close to an honour one is & vibe what the requriements are?) 15. Rabbit burrow - Minor/Normal Discover 2 entrances to same area of the Depths under your own power. Reward: maybe sense of depths entrances nearby? Bonus maybe feel depth and/or general floor vibe. 16. Dauntless - Normal Expend and recover your entire health pool 5 times in a day under your own power. (health lost needs to be from a genuine enemy/threat) (no external healing/items for recovery) (scalable) (possibly applicable to other resource pools)

BerciTheBeast

What about some sort of honour for peaceful negotiation or resolving some Major conflict without violence. Or some sort of honour for peaceful relations between species if he and Porkchop successfully make their two species have flourishing relationships(trade of goods and knowledge maybe)

Joseph Gibson

1. Double-Tap: Kill an enemy again after said enemy has been resurrected. 2. To Hell and Back: Make it to a different plane of existence and back again.

Kiera

I'm kind of surprised nobody has mentioned anything about runes tbh. With him being the first (and only, so far) there should be a plethora of honours which Kaius should be able to get.

UnhandMe

Maybe something like reaching X stats before X level, or reaching max stat for that level? Minor honor, obviously

Tsorov

Getting a class at the theoretical maximum grade for a tier, could start at minor and then scale each tier you keep it up. Would again need retroactively editing tho.. Getting X skills at the theoretical maximum grade, such as 5 (half of all the skills) getting sufficnet amount of general skills to the maximum grade, again chainable for each tier.

Frotzy

From the brink- Defeated an enemy of significant strength while health/stamina was at 0 Bane- Kill X number of Y species (Recieve some sort of boost in combat against Y) Single Minded- Reach X number in Y stat before a certain tier or level. Honestly this one probably won't fit, but some sort of honour that passes on. Ex: Only One- Slay the previous holder of this honour. Get a shit ton of stats I Alone- Kill X number of enemies unassisted in Y time. Unfortunately I can't think of any non-combat or magic related skills just because I don't know enough about crafting or magic in this world.

Tristan A

An Honour for triggering two/three integration phasesshifts, I dont think he got an Honour for triggering the first one, which is something that does seems sufficient for a Major Honour. Could be a chain but then would be needed to edit retroactively so they got a Honour for the initial one.

Frotzy

I wonder if there could be a way to force a skill evolution outside of the normal circumstances you’d expect it to happen (which I believe to be tier ups?). Maybe by using a skill in a creative or difficult way outside of its normal boundaries or through your soul, aspects, etc resonating in particular with a skill. Seems like something that could warrant an honor outside of combat

jackie weaver

I loved Macronomicons polls and suggestion taking! I also got something put in one of their stories, a monster. I think the hard thing about suggesting something for this story is not having a firm understanding of the world. For instance, Kauis made it seem like it has been a while since someone has been observed, is this actually true? I ask this because honestly other than the honours he got for being unclassed it borders on disbelief that no one has been observed or knows about honours. Honestly at this point I've theorycrafted that someone organization or entity is purposefully hindering progession of everybody else. These details are a more important to the question than me just rambling because if any of the honours are even remotely "easy" then it doesn't make sense people don't know about them. Look at Kauis, as soon as he found out about honours he was able to deduce what possible things would give honours. I worry that the issue of honours won't be solved in a satisfying way if it turns out that somehow due to greediness all information regarding honours over thousands of years and people has been lost. Sorry, for the long post, and I hope this was constructively written as it's meant to be. I'll post the actual honours I'd suggest in reply lol.

Tristan A

Perhaps a system related honor, such as doing something that helps speed up integration of the world or helping the system with one of its myriad goals. There could also be honors for killing people who are actively do things that work against integration. Finally there could be honors for innovating off of class given skills. For example kaius using his knowledge of class given runes to come up with more rudimentary but still functional runes of the same type.

MeepGod

1) Child of the Deeps - Given for being born in the Deeps. Slightly reduces the area that creatures will aggro on you, allowing easier travel through the biomes. Slightly improves personalization of Guardian rewards. 2) Your a terrible Mother. Rewarded when you give birth in the Deeps, and making it out safely with the baby. All damage increased by 100% when in the Deeps and your unclasped child is within 50 feet.

Wandakin

Ever Evolving: An Unknown rank Honor for gaining x amount of traits. I don't know how rare traits are, but I suppose you could alter this Honor to fit whatever you have planned for the series.

Noneya bezznes

3 honors come to mind. 1. Reach X teir before X age. Minor honor ofc. 2. It's opposite, reach X teir with max skill level. Minor honor again. Maybe if someone gets both they combine. 3. Make a system recognized skill. We have already seen people make skills. Honor level dependant on rarity of skill.

CheeseGrater

"I could do this all day" - Remain conscious despite reaching 0 stamina "Resistance is futile" - Defeat an enemy who possesses a resistance skill equal or higher level than your current class level using only the element they are resistant to.

TooOldForThisShit

Measures of significant skill: Untouchable - defeat a notable enemy (determined by author) solo without being struck. Ambitious Delver - defeat a Guardian of a suitably deep level for honoree's tier. (Could be minor or major depending on ridiculousness) One Shot - defeat a notable enemy in a single strike. (Great to discover this one accidentally if extensive placing is rendered moot)

Heedless

Major honor for designing a rune/spell at a lower tier, could be a progressive honor based on type/difficulty/strength

darthcrouch

One Man Army - Defeat X amount of enemies (under the command of a hostile faction/entity) of equivalent or higher level than yourself in X amount of time.

moon

I feel like there could be some honors related to community and legacy building that haven't been received yet, at least in human lands - perhaps three fields has a shot at them? Maybe related to dynastic size, or spread, like the number of bloodlines included. As for aspects - since they are about self-introspection, perhaps an honor for leading a certain amount of Other People to discover their aspects.

Tacit Candor

Mostly to pad out the honors so he can get the *You have 25 Honors* type achievements. In my head he wouldn't be the first. And he'd lose them when redoing his tricky tattoos.

ReadingObsessed

And I'd do it again! - Minor Honor achieved. >You have, intentionally or otherwise, removed the same limb 5 times. For this achievement you have gained a minor resistance to shock when losing a limb.

ReadingObsessed

Few ideas: I like the idea of weapon mastery honors. Something like maxing out a a heroic tier sword/bow/spear/whatever skill in the first tier. Would probably be a minor honor, could be lesser versions for a couple lower rarities. There could be an honor tree that continues into higher tiers with higher skill rarities. Could provide a bonus to leveling skills with the associated weapon. I think it would be cool for the system to reward a high degree of ski and dedication to a specific weapon. By higher tiers a dedicated sword master who always got the highest available sword skill would have a powerful series of sword honors. Not sure of all the lore, but it looks like the system takes classes and skills for the wider multiverse, like with Kaius’s class and runes. Should probably be honors for basically establishing a path that the system accepts. We probably wont get there in the story for quite a while. It might also be part of the more cultivation-style stuff that is starting with aspects and presumably continuing

Johnny Smithers

I think triggering an honor for meeting the challenge of a sufficiently trusted/leveled system entity could work? I could see them (potentially) earning two honors for completing their aspects before tier-three, one for being a first in the cohort, and another for meeting a challenge of sufficient merit posed by an administrator. I could see high-leveled kings/leaders being able to "give out" (minor?) honors in a similar way as mana levels rise. Maybe they all give the same, one-time minor honor if a challenge of sufficient merit is overcome.

Tacit Candor

I had an idea of an Honour for surviving being targeted by an attack from something two tiers higher than you (Could be achieved through luck of positioning or maybe you’re a prince/princess who had a guard get in position to block at the last moment) Reward could be a small percentage increase in dexterity and endurance and a small increase to movement speed (maybe only when running from something higher levelled?)

Anki

Over achiever - 25 Honors while in the first tier

Candida Hudson

exterminating a species or killing a uniquely dangerous creature. Taking advantage of the evolution of creatures can certainly give some a unique and very dangerous mutation

I. T

I was going to suggest this since the more everyone knows, the less new info or breakthroughs there are to be had. The person that hid skill merging would also miss this honour.

Shakez44

Honor: All skills at or exceeding a specific rank before a certain tier. (Like all skills heroic and maxed before tier 3 or something of that effect) Reward: (minor bonus to skill leveling and effective +5 to all skill levels (on paper its 50 but effective 55) First Bonus is just increased effective level and bonus to leveling. Or perhaps a bonus to skill tier increase once he reaches the next tier upgrade like what happened when he got his class.

Jar Jar

Sucker for Punishment: Loose over a certaint amount of health everyday for a year. I always liked the titles in large chests as well, the hunter/ slayer/butcher perks for 500,1000,5000 kills of a species that generate an innate fear proportional to the level.

John Cliff

I'd suggest an honour for directly or indirectly raising the average ability of the cohort. The system wants lots of people succeeding, right? So something like "The Rising Tide: as a result of your efforts to spread knowledge of the Aspects, X% of sapient in your cohort have developed an aspect!' The reward could be a commensurate stat modifier, or early access to the next tier,or info, etc.

BelligerentGnu

What if kaius gets so far down the path of rune binding he begins to bind every cell individually

Aureus

What about a minor honour being something along the lines of most stats increased in a period of month or most skill levels earned in a month just as a little nod towards progression. Could give a very small percentage boost towards earning skill levels

Joseph Gibson

Considering there is different types of magic what about align the body minmind and soul tto one of these categories such as space like every cell is infused with the concept of space allowing body parts to function even when separated like imagine a swordsmans arm cut off and still able to attack with the sword in hand at distance only cellular death would actually stop functionality Or if fire when cells are destroyed or can be forcefully destroyed they can be used as a weapon and explode with fire mana Maybe full integration of said concept within every cell in the body triggers an honour as this i think would be an immense undertaking because you would have to teach the cells to also replicate the concept when new growth occurs from regen or something

Aureus

You could have honours for killing x in a single battle or with in a certain amount of time. You could also do honours for visiting x amount of areas biomes visited in the layers or make it more complicated and require multiple layers with x amount of biomes visited and champions/bosses killed in them

Guppy

Then again that could be for any of their skills that aren’t unique

755

Probably already thought of but when Kaius and Porkchop meet the matriarchs their bond skill could evolve and become a first skill. And be a minor honour for being first to evolve their skill to a certain tier

755

Exploration could be one. Visit every continent, bonus if done within 2 years. Maybe just survive a blow from a being x level above you, or a dragon. Maybe honours for doing something handicappede, like kill a guardian nude and bare handed.

Martin Kalum

Maybe one for losing a fight, when by most reckoning he should have either won or died? If that makes sense, it'd be an unusual situation to warrant it though

Isaac Boyles

Primarily Porkchop focused: Not A Scratch: withstand the blow of an enemy x levels higher than you without losing any health

you could have a ship of theseus type honor. It could be split into different tiers, a minor honor for having all of his original body destroyed/regrowth over time except for the heart and brain, normal for his entire body, and major for regenerating his entire body over the course of a single battle.

joey

An honour based on establishing a successful settlement at a certain tier based on population and sphere of influence.

Harrison Hogan

Legacy related one maybe. Like x number of people complete the legacy Kaius and Porkchop created for the village. Extending that forward when members of that legacy start getting pillars.

Jake Swartz

Fighting for x amount of time at zero health and winning

I need time like an hour or two

I could see honours for preserving, permanently altering or even destroying an environment/local ecology. Also, as we've read about how powerful groups/families keep secrets, having something akin to a "Great Teacher" honour, for having x/y/z living people benefitting from knowledge you've shared would carry a certain irony. Perhaps a an honour that grows over time based on the number of different races you've befriended. Be it an ambassadorial honor or some such. Honours for artists/sculptors whose work has inspired others into action/decisions that'd have a significant impact. Could the system even track that? Could there be more... "silly" honours, for instance something akin to "Late Bloomer", where someone manages to be a particularly low level/skilled for their age, particularly as the world grows more dangerous?

TooOldForThisShit

Be the first to teach someone glyph binding outside of your own and their glass. Basically teach someone a class spell of the glyph binding variety with no system help.

Could be honours for various things, though if they were common enough to get their existence would have leaked by now. Some random ideas more for inspiration than anything: More than 10000 (or whatever) people believe you are a demigod/god/evil-incarnate/spiritual-something The massacre/genocide/battle junkie style ones - you've killed 10000 beings of a specific species before level X for no reason other than joy of battle/experience gain (not a war, not for revenge, etc) Doing generally stupid things yet somehow surviving, the more outrageous the better honour, like riding a dragon and befriending it afterwards. Could even be a series where they aren't for specific set 'things-you-shouldn't-do-yet-somehow-you-are-still-alive' but 'you have kept a manticore as a pet for a year and it hasn't mauled you in your sleep in all that time - somehow it likes you; this is the fifth thing you shouldn't have done and survived, congrats you dumbass, minor honour that grants health and intelligence because you will need it'.

David White

At their base, honors are recognition of significance. Of might, speed, or wit. Focus on or limiting them to those who achieved a feat primarily through personal effort might help. 1 honor for reaching point of no return (death) and returning. 2 highest lvl at age (1 year from now) 3 courage/ sacrifice honor. 4 breaking a powerful illusion 5 finding something hidden 6 impact on world honor (__ saved, or legacy created, political leader etc.)

Silver

One that occurs to me because they have regeneration type skills: something like heal for 5 or 10 times your total health in one fight.

Timothy Jacobs

A Major Honor for creating a new glyph

CapeShifter

Maybe not now but later in the story, when he has left this world, honours given for exploration. maybe there is some kind of guild of guilds in the universe dedicated to exploring the unknown finding new world's. Plus treasure hunters could be a lot of fun. Also not sure what happens when a world fails their integration maybe a a guild or guilds who explore fallen worlds looking for treasures, histories and anything else they can find. Cartographers who gain honours for mapping the depths in different worlds.

Stephen

World traveler-honor for those under observation who travel and solve major depths related Issues at a set number of different cities.

John Henderson Jr.

I would recommend culture, economic, societal, or 'tech' changes/impact. For instance if/when Kaius starts spreading his vancian/rune casting and it becomes a statistical change. Or if the starting village actually develops its leaders would get minors for it. A farmer who develops something like rotational farming and spreads it. Someone who created something like the silk road. A builder who creates a wonder like the library of Alexandria. An emperor who's spreads his nation across a continent for x number of years.

TETRATOLULENE

there were languages that Kaius was unable to understand and from the deep depths and runes that he was unable to understand as well. Maybe an honour for deciphering the runes of another world? or If he discovers truths about the system getting an honour for voicing the truths out loud?

Minor-level ideas: X skills at heroic before 3rd-tier. Successfully cast a new spell design on the 1st attempt. Normal-level: Mass-murder (kill >10,000 enemies with one attack). Resistance collector (have > ## resistances). Survival challenges (Survive exsanguination, destruction of your heart, distruction of your brain, etc.) Major-level ideas: "breaking" the system e.g. getting a skill at a level not supposed to be unlocked at the current tier, all stats 2-tiers above nominal, withstand the trump-level attack of a higher tier being, etc. Intimidate and cause to flee an enemy of a higher tier.

Evan Van Dyke

Could have an extermination or massacre style honors for defeating a number of foes in a set period of time. I.e. you killed 50 beings of equal strength to yourself within a 24 hour window

Godfather1w1

Trigger conditions: 1. Killing with a single blow 2. No active skill use, or no mana spent 3. Killing without being touched 4. Killing without being detected 5. Environmental/indirect damage only 6. Reaching a certain level within a certain time of gaining a class

William Boettcher

Minor: Spreading information (more important information = higher honour) (info package cough) Minor: Learning things. Academic. Genuinely creating new things (hopefully not everything is discovered in the universe?) Minor: Best >X varieties of foes. Minor+: Completionist: Fully clear layers, all champions, all biomes, etc. Normal: Descending to X layer within Y timeframe. (aka 2 years from 'awakening'? (i forget)) Normal: BossRush mechanics. Maybe theres alternative paths/events in the deeper layers. ^ Cont; Have unique shit happen. Have like 'made significant purchase from the '{some fancy layer name}'s' shopkeeper using layer currency. 'took an ethereal jaunt to the 650th layer and made it out alive' Normal: Game limiting mechanics (aka Hades) - Killed enemies (bosses) without abilities, never took damage, never used mana, oneshot, with certain limitations imposed from beginning the layer / challenge. (aka 50% slower, more resilient enemies..) This is scaling enemies outside of having more abilities. I think having a concise number of abilities is key for 'Boss'/npc like enemies. Major: Gained attention of high entities like ekum before x event occurs. Major: Created your own skill/ability of sufficient complexity. (Invoking spells without abilities type thing) Finally: Conditional: (New Honour type) Gives powerful unique effect (first strike on enemy 2x dmg, ignore first instance of dmg every week, etc) while a certain state is maintained, like 'has slain enemy with greatest level disparity' or 'done one of X honours listed above the best [and must maintain being the best]. Think variation on the 'first' you currently have.

Hello! Thanks for the story! I think something from a crafting perspective would be cool, perhaps if you make the ideal of what you're working on? Like a perfectly made steel sword gets the honour, a healing potion made perfectly with the ideal ingredients gets it. I don't have the head for numbers, and I'm not sure if crafting will even be all that relevant. Maybe crafting spells for Ianmus? Something similar for stealth, perhaps if you can steal the prize from a champion without harming them or getting noticed? I also think they should get honours for sharing critical info with the rest of the world, specifically across all species. For making the right choice, should it be the right choice for your story. Not a lot of details for you in there, but I've never been good at writing. Thanks again for the story so far!

Andrew Lewis

In one of the most recent chapter I think they mention how someone must have gotten an honor for legacy skills and kaius comes to the realization that they must not have shared it. If they had, well maybe the world would have advanced. You could potentially do an honors for a certain percentage of the population learning what kaius learned about pillars.

Andrew Omeara

I personally think there should be an honour for X number of people to get an Aspect based on advice. Think that would be cool, especially because it ties into the idea that the system is testing whether they as a society share the information rewards

Emma1997

Scaling the ones he has now seems obvious. Unique stuff like completely rediscovering one art or magic form based on first principles seems valid...but that's basically what Kaius already did. Reaching a certain depth before level X seems valid too.

Elite Dungeon Climber (solo and group) - Tier 1 - Clear floor 10 guardian at

DB

Could be put anywhere depending on the timeframe but an honour based on the speed that someone advances through the tiers as Kaius is already moving pretty fast. Second suggestion an honour based on someone unlocking a large number of other normal and lesser honours

Ark

A honor for maxing the level of a skill, while not having gained any level in the same tier as the skill
