Saturday Focus Poll - January 17th

New Weekend, New Poll!

Updates for Desolation will be coming this week. Last week, unfortunately, had me a bit preoccupied with some in-real life matters.

You really forget how time-intensive the early stages of new relationship can be after you've not been in a relationship for a while. Well, that and you tend to forget you are in a relationship at all. That moment when you go 'wait a minute, I'm not single anymore!' is always a bit like George Bailey getting confused by the phone call from Mrs. Bailey, and being told its his wife, not his mother.

...If you get that reference, you're a real one.

Don't forget to drink water!

Stay Hydrated!

Today's Trivia:

Fun Fact! January 17th, today, is the birthday of the character, Capon Bege, from One Piece.

Double Fun Fact! Nominative determinism is the concept that people tend to gravitate towards areas of work or interest that fit their names. Most popular of which, being Usain Bolt as the (former) World's Fastest Man.

I used to believe every character in One Piece had a reason their names were chosen. Silvers Rayleigh, for instance, is most likely named after the phenomenon of Rayleigh Scattering, the deflection of light, as he ends up being the first character we see battling the Logia Light user.

I had in fact believed this right up until just two days ago, where I found an SBS conducted by Oda in which he admits he sometimes chooses names because he likes the sound of them, not because they have some special meaning.

Thus, I admittedly feel like an idiot, thinking there was a hidden easter egg and spending time reading Don Quixote to try and grasp a connection between the character and book...

Only to realize that the name may have been selected just because the creator thought it sounded cool.

...Fun Fact!

I don't dislike it, certainly would prefer if the mc had a bit more (emotional/moral) depth, but it is what it is. On the other hand, it having *more than double* the votes of desolation in a poll that is multi-vote is frankly insane. Like, holy crap, mindblowing to see ngl lol, never thought Desolation could be beat by this much. (On a side note, somewhat happy that Crave seems to be holding its place. Crave bros as long as we remain steadfast we'll keep winning. For Love!)

on one hand, I'm eagerly waiting to have one stories complete, preferably Caged Bird. on the other hand, that waiting is too long, so I'm hoping that eternal number 3 dropped in popularity, so that we get Precise Note back! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I really donโ€™t want to read more about that loser in one piece. I see enough Jake Paulโ€™s irl to want it encroaching into my reading.

Cameron Burchett

Do not worry, for your time was not wasted, since that Don Quixote bit was one of my favorites ngl lol. Also, never a waste to read some of the classics. Limbus Company got me to read Demian and it was quite good, even if a bit gayer than I usually like my books lmao. Nothing compared to how Moby Dick is though, that shit is almost impressive.

Agreed. Everyone, remember Smol Might giving Bakugo life advice on the shitter. That shit was peak. Let's bring it back!

My Precise Note brothers, with this poll we shall finally attain that which we have been voting for! To those ambivalent to our plight, I wish you all the best regardless. Onto other relevant matters, there does come many times where the audience is obviously thinking harder about the specific story decisions than the author themselves. Itโ€™s quite hilarious but anyone is susceptible, and I have fallen victim as well. Itโ€™s just a matter of getting invested.
