Making money from female bodybuilding

The internet has changed since we started diymuscle in 2006. Back then people were willing to join our site even when we only had 5 models. Now it's difficult to acquire members even though we have hundreds of models. The nature of online commerce has shifted. In the 2000s it was dominated by membership sites. Someone would join and the membership money would fund the site and pay the models. People rarely join membership sites now. They get their entertainment from free sources.
Previously people would use youtube for promotion and drive traffic to external sites. Now with revenue sharing youtube is a primary income platform. You can get paid if you have a loyal fan base and offer valuable content on your channel. We'd love to generate revenue on youtube (it's our goal) but with a niche genre like female bodybuilding it's proving to be difficult. Back in the day when we'd post videos on youtube we'd be one of the top ranked in the sports category. Many of our clips would get hundreds of thousands of views (a big deal back then). Now we get a few hundred. lol. Although we're just getting re-started so we'll give some time to grow.
In the meantime we're going to post all of our stuff here on Patreon so even if we can't produce new content at least our members are getting their moneys worth.
