Welcome to our Ancient Greece inspired map for the month of July! This base version features quite a big city, with 6-7 big areas/main sights.
1.: First we have the outskirts.
This region includes an open grazing grounds with a big pond in the middle of it, and rows of grape and small vineries at their side. Because Ancient Greece LOVED their vine!
2.: Next up, the lower section of the city.
Here you will find the trading square, aka 'Agora', where most of the commerce took place.
Above it you will find the hippodrome, currently featuring a cart race.
There are 2 types of living areas here. On the Northern and Southern side you will find smaller, more orderly homes for the poor, workers and soldiers.
At the center, you'll see bigger and more lavish housing for the merchants and the kind.
Here you will also find a second open square, next to which there is a gymnasium. Perfect place to hold your olympic events!
3.: Going up the serpentine or the long way around South, we can start our climb to the Acropolis above!
First you will pass the tiered gardens.
Then you will start to see bigger houses, some of them with pools. The most rich of the population lives here of course.
Carved out of the mountainside, you can see the concentric half circle shape of the Amphitheater. An open sky stage, with plenty seating, ready for a night of drama!
Going further up you will find two covered walkways, also known as 'Stoa's. Another Ancient Hellenistic classic!
And of course as the name suggests, at the top you will find the Acropolis. Here there is a palace building and a main temple surrounded with smaller temples, shrines and golden statues glinting in the sunlight.
As you can see, we tried to include a lot of classic greek themed buildings and ideas. Even the shape and general layout were inspired by the ancient city of Pergamon.

Still, the map holds plenty of small details and charm to be used in fantasy games. (PERFECT in our opinion for Thedas based campaigns!)
We've had so much fun making this map for all of you, and we couldn't be happier with it. In our opinion, it might be our best map yet. But of course as always, you be the judge! Let us know what you think in the comments below!
With all of that said, we hope you enjoy the map and can find many adventures within and out of its walls!
And as always,
Happy Building!
