Happy 100th episode of Angel! Joss pulled the rug from under us again. It’s like when they finally put Amber Benson in the main opening credits just to kill her off at the end of the episode. At some point you’ll have to go read about the shit Charisma went through with Joss. I know several people have already said it, but her pregnancy basically pissed off Joss so much he assassinated her character in season 4. Then fired her before season 5. It’s a shitty mess with all the drama he put her through. It’s sad because we all wanted more for her character. They wanted Sarah to come back, but wasn’t able. Offered to Charisma who turn it down initially. We’re lucky we got her back for closure, even if it’s not the way we wanted. What a Queen she was! ❤️

We basically didn't get her at all in Season 4, and then she shows up just to die in season 5. I wanted so much more from her! Lol. Anyway, I'm glad Ashleigh is still invested in the Season, I was afraid Cordelia's death would rock her interest.

2026-01-30 09:03:23 +0000 UTCThe thing that gets me about the cancellation is - how much of a pissing match did Joss had to have gotten into with the programming executive, that they actually decided to cancel the show? Because just asking the question of, "Hey, would you be willing to consider giving us an early renewal; so we can start mapping out next season?" wouldn't be impertinent enough to cause a business executive to respond, "Fuck you, you're canceled!" Joss must have pushed hard and basically given them an ultimatum; and the exec responded in kind. Angel was still doing really well in the ratings for The WB, especially for a show in its 5th season. I think they might have even seen an uptick in the ratings (I could be mistaken about that). But the programming exec who made the decision to cancel even later admitted that it was probably a mistake. So what did Joss say to provoke that kind of a response?
