Doc Golightly is played by Buddy Ebsen - most famous as the original Jed Clampett in "The Beverly Hillbillies" and later "Barnaby Jones". He was also the first choice for the Tin Man in "The Wizard of OZ", but couldn't handle the aluminum based makeup. As noted before, Micky Rooney played the landlord. His career lasted almost 90 years - from vaudeville to being a child star, with numerous career comebacks as he aged. Both lived into this century.

Bruce R Wilson

Soooo... that neighbor is Mickey Rooney who is in fact a white man. That has been documented as one of the most inappropriate casting choices of all time. I know this was made in 1961, but still. It definitely hasn't aged well. Also, the cat does have a name (not in the movie), Orangey. I hadn't seen this before and always meant to. I guess I can say I've seen it. LOL.. it was "ok", but I could only watch this one and not the watch along so I know I missed out on some things. Hopefully now My Fair Lady will make a poll! :)

I have heard that the main part was potentially going to go to Marilyn Monroe, interesting alternative history if that had happened

Oh the Audrey Hepburn rabbit hole...next should be My Fair Lady

Sassafras and Lemons

More Audrey movies for the month of love could be Funny Face! My Fair Lady is also iconic.

Art By Design

You should watch Georgy Girl 1966

Dani

If anyone is interested, I've seen one actor from one episode of The Twilight Zone (The New Exhibit, as "Martin Lombard Senescu") and Doc Golightly playing Opie's hobo friend in that episode of The Andy Griffith Show.

Re: novel, in publishing the general definition is that it is one story of a minimum of about 50,000 words. A book is simply a collection of pages bound together. There's more details of course but if you mean as compared to a novella, it's word count -- novellas are usually between 10,000 and 50,000 words -- and focus (a novella's focus is tight on a single character or subject, while novels are usually broader with multiple developed characters). And short stories are, well, short - usually maxing out at 10,000 words.
