This is by far one of the best episodes across both shows. So many great things going on but to me, its all about Spike. You will never look at him the same way, after this. The whole episode comes down to Spikes realization that the demon he had created all those years ago wasn't really his mother. If that is true, than it also means that the soulless version of Spike isn't who he is now. William "The Bloody" and Spike are two separate entities, like Angel and Angelus. This whole event has given him a new perspective on what it means to have a soul, and in my opinion, it begins his journey to becoming a champion.
