this is the sketch of the page, as you can see, I ended up sketching it over digitally almost entirely, it was easier to figure out the background better.

but most of the poses were created in the traditional step.

anyway, this part of the story is sad, but in a different way I guess, for me the next 2 pages is sort of a bitersweet moment...

I was trying to balance the "intensity" of the Derideal storyline, let's say... most of the time the story goes with action, or just goes to different stages of missions and physical combat.. or in part 1, mostly torture experiments.

part 2 is more action-focused, I think--

I'm not sure how I would define part 3, I'd say it's a little more about emotions, rather than combats or physical torture... I guess you can predict the story is slowly going more towards the psychological manipulation Alpha and Ivory have to endure.

I also thought it was important to give "Daniel" a proper arc, he's been a character that's been dweling in the backgrounds of the story since a while and didn't played much of a role, a "gray" scientist compared to the rest, caught between his "job" and how he starts seeing xenos more like sentient beings... and as this happens, he also pays consequences, the Consortium doesn't like it, and the more soft he gets with the xenos, the more vulnerable he becomes too.

when the rest of pages of this scene get published I'll comment a little more about what's he's trying to do here, but I guess it will be entirely clear by then.
