The whole mixed race thing, apparently they kept they lighter skin black people in the house and made the darker ones work outside, I wonder if that's why colorism is a thing to this day.

The trans Atlantic slave trade involves Puerto Rico, the United States of America, Brazil, and countless other places. The descendants of slaves black people are and there are a lot of Hispanics who I have black in them but do not identify with it. But your ancestors were Africans taken to Puerto Rico raped by Spaniards and adopted the Spanish culture. That's why you'll see Hispanics that look black or mixed. It's because they truthfully are but culturally they are Spanish

Sole civilians could see what was happening to them and it would make some people feel sick so they would treat them better. In the South where everything is mainly farm, no civilians are around to see how you harm them so they get treated worse
