After six months of divorce-related indignities of all kinds, Ron needed to endure one final indignity before he could move on with his life. He needed only to affix his signature to the divorce papers and he would be forever free of Mindy.
That freedom had come at a significant cost, of course. She'd taken the house. She'd taken two of the three cars they owned. She'd taken their dog despite the fact that it had been his dog before they'd even started dating. She'd taken a surprising portion of his income, too, despite the fact that Mindy had a job and certainly didn't need his money. As it turned out, need didn't really matter all that much when the divorce was acrimonious.
"Excuse me," Ron said to the young woman in the glasses and the white blouse, "it's been nearly an hour. How much longer do I have to wait?"
She smiled and glanced at her computer screen. "Just a little longer."
Though he knew it was unnecessary, Ron had been told that he had to come to the law office of Alexander Williams - his wife's divorce lawyer - to sign the papers and officially dissolve his marriage. He figured that going to the office was Mindy's final means of humiliating him before they went their separate ways forever.
The waiting seemed purposeful. Ron granted that he might simply have been caught up in his anger and was making wild assumptions as a result, but he didn't think he was wrong.
When the doors opened and Alexander - or Alex, as he told everyone to call him - walked in talking a mile a minute with his AirPods in, Ron knew he'd been told to come at the wrong time because Mindy wanted to make him wait.
Ron opened his mouth to speak to his wife's lawyer but Alex held up a finger to keep him quiet, which he did without hesitation. In an instant Ron felt small and meaningless. He told himself to shake it off, to gut his way through whatever he had to so he could affix his signature to those papers and move on with his life.
Alex stood in the middle of his office's waiting room having a loud conversation with what Ron assumed was another attorney. Gentle threats were leveled, a compromise of some sort was reached, and insincere compliments were offered before the call ended.
"Ronnie, follow me," Alex said in an off-handed, almost dismissive manner.
Ron stood and followed his wife's divorce lawyer - a man he'd come to hate over the past six months - into his office, which happened to have a remarkable view of the city. Ron knew that the view was meant to imply that Alex was a successful lawyer, that he was worth every penny he charged. As had happened many times during the divorce process, Ron wondered how his wife had afforded Alex's services as they couldn't have come cheap.
"Ronnie, sit," Alex said before loudly setting his briefcase on his desk.
No one called him Ronnie. Ron hated it. That's why Alex did it, of course. It had to be.
Alex opened his briefcase and pulled out a thick pile of papers that had been neatly bound. He dropped it onto the desk with a thud. "There it is, Ronnie. Freedom. Of a sort, at least, since you're not really free. I mean, you'll be paying Mindy until the day you die."
He laughed and Ron's blood boiled. He gritted his teeth and nearly unleashed a vicious 'fuck you' at the divorce lawyer, but held off on it in the name of getting it over with.
"Your lawyer has looked it over and approved everything. You know the details. Feel free to read the settlement again before you sign it, but nothing has changed."
Ron stared at the stack of white paper on Alex's desk and felt his lips curl into a smile. He was eager to move on with this chapter of his life, even if it meant having to pay Mindy a percentage of his monthly income.
"Any questions before we get this over with, Ronnie?" Alex asked.
Ron probably should have said 'no' and signed the divorce papers. He was curious about one thing, though, and he figured there was no harm in asking. "How did Mindy afford you?" he asked. "I mean, I have to imagine your rates are high and we're not a wealthy couple so...I just don't see how she saw any wisdom in paying you when she could have paid someone a tenth of what you charge and gotten roughly the same outcome?"
Alex dropped into his desk chair - it looked to be the sort that cost multiple thousands of dollars - and then put his feet up on the desk while cracking the cockiest smile Ron had ever seen.
"I offer flexible payment options for certain clients," he explained. "Your wife is one of those clients."
It was the smile on the lawyer's face that made Ron want to push. Some part of him understood that the smile was an invitation, that Alex was trying to goad Ron into asking for more information. That part of him knew that it was stupid to ask, that he should just sign the papers and leave. That part of him lost the battle in his brain.
"Flexible payment options? What does that mean?"
Alex's feet slipped off the desk and he inched his wheeled chair forward until his elbows rested on the shiny, expensive-looking wood. "Mindy and I came to an arrangement."
"What sort of arrangement?"
Alex flashed that cocky smile again and Ron wanted to punch him. "Do you know when she first came to me?"
Ron shook his head.
"No, that can't be. She came to you six months ago."
"No, Ronnie, she came to me a year ago. Almost exactly to the day, in fact. She came into my office and told me that she wanted to divorce her husband. She told me that didn't realize how much of a loser she'd married until the marriage was five years old. She told me she'd spent another five years trying her best to help you break out of being a fucking loser but that she'd failed. She told me that she wanted out of your marriage and that she came to me because she wanted you to suffer for having stolen ten years from her."
Ron sat back in stunned silence. It was possible the lawyer was fucking with him, but it seemed unlikely. He disagreed vigorously with the notion that he was a loser, too. He made more money than Mindy. He wasn’t as successful as some of their friends, but he wasn’t a loser.
"I still remember how good she looked," he continued. "A lot of women come in here like that, though. They do their hair and makeup. They wear their nicest outfit. It's like they think that I'm going to work a little harder for a beautiful client. It's not a crazy notion, though for the most part I'm in it for the money."
Ron had never felt more contempt for a man.
"I told Mindy my rates and I could see the frustration on her face. She couldn't afford me. You were right about that, Ron. Or, I suppose, she probably could have afforded me, but there was very little point in emptying her savings just to make the divorce a little more painful for you."
"So what was your alternative payment plan?"
Alex smiled. That same unbearably cocky smile. "I told your wife that I wanted to take her out to dinner to discuss her case. She accepted. I took her to some fancy French place. We polished off a bottle of wine. We ate the most exquisite food she'd ever had. We talked about pretty much everything other than the case. As we stepped onto the sidewalk, I took her hand in mine. I brushed a few strands of dark hair away from her forehead. I caressed her face. I saw that she was willing, so I kissed her."
Ron thought back to a year ago. He'd thought their marriage was pretty strong. He and Mindy rarely fought. He certainly had no sense that she'd been interested in a divorce, that she'd kissed another man, that she'd done whatever else Alex was about to tell him.
"It was an electric kiss, Ronnie, and when I asked your wife to go back to my place, she accepted. By the end of the night, I'd fucked her three times, including a rather vigorous doggystyle session with her pressed up against the floor to ceiling windows in my living room. I can still remember how hard she came while I took her from behind, how her legs trembled to such a degree that she almost collapsed, how her pussy dripped and made a lovely little mess on my carpet."
Ron was speechless. Mindy had cheated on him? She'd fucked the lawyer? Was that really possible?
"The next morning she woke me up with a blowjob. I don't know if a woman has ever sucked your dick in the morning, Ronnie, but it's a surefire sign that you've fucked her the way she needs to be fucked. In Mindy's case, it was a surefire sign that I fucked her far better than her pathetic husband had ever fucked her."
"You piece of shit," Ron said, though there was far less vitriol behind his words that he would have liked.
"Guilty as charged, Ronnie," Alex replied. "Guilty as charged." That cocky smile crossed his face once more. "I'll tell you what, though, your wife is a fucking stallion in bed. Her cunt is like a vice grip, too, and that mouth of hers is exquisite. She can suck dick better than just about any woman I've ever fed my cum to, Ronnie."
Ron was stunned into silence, in part because Alex was even more of a dirtbag than he'd imagined and in part because he didn't think Mindy was capable of cheating on him and of being the kind of highly sexual being that Alex seemed to be describing.
"Wait, so the flexible payment option...Mindy was paying you by fucking you?" Ron asked.
Alex nodded. "Your wife has made me cum a few hundred times in the past year, Ronnie. In truth, I got the better end of the bargain here. Paying a pro for that many orgasms would have cost me way more than your wife would have paid for my services. She's willing to give it up whenever I want it, though. I have you to thank for that, though. When a woman is coming out of a marriage to a fucking loser - especially when he's a loser in the bedroom - she's desperate for quite some time and she will do anything for the man that can actually satisfy her sexual desires, and I'm that man, Ronnie."
Alex stood and came around his desk. He leaned against the dark wood, crossed his arms, and looked down at the man whose wife he'd been fucking for a solid year.
"I took about three months before she agreed to let me fuck her bareback," Alex said. "I've been dumping my loads in her pussy ever since. I really enjoyed those three months before she filed. I liked sending her home to you with my cum dripping out of her cunt. I don't know if she ever let you fuck her or made you go down on her after I'd had my way with her, but thinking about it always puts a smile on my face."
Ron was horrified at the notion. He and Mindy didn't have much sex - especially in the past few years - so it seemed unlikely that he'd interacted with Alex's cum in any way, but the mere notion of it was enough to make Ron a little nauseous.
"I can't believe this," Ron said. "I can't believe any of this. I can't believe what a piece of shit you are. I can't believe what a fucking slut Mindy is. I can't...I just can't believe this."
Alex laughed, reached out, and slapped Ron on the knee. "The look on your face is precious, buddy. I'm going to remember that for a long time."
"Why...why did Mindy wait for six months?" Ron asked. "I don't get that. Why wouldn't she just file immediately?"
"That's easy, Ronnie. We made a deal. I got her for six months before we filed. I got to date her. To fuck her. To have fun with her. I got it all for six months before she filed and then I got to keep having my fun while we worked to destroy you."
Ron's jaw dropped. "She agreed to that?"
"Like I said, Ronnie, some married women are so desperate for good sex that they'll do damn near anything for the man that can actually satisfy them. In my case, I satisfied your wife in two ways. Sexually, of course, but I also satisfied her desire to get revenge on her pathetic husband for wasting ten years of her life."
Ron felt himself floating away, like his brain had decided it couldn't handle everything Alex was throwing at him.
"I shared her once," he said.
"What?" Ron asked as he was brought back to the present moment.
Alex smiled. "Yeah. I had her give a blowjob to a buddy of mine. Honestly, I just wanted to see if she would do it. I wasn't going to make her do it, but I asked and she said yes without hesitation. I invited him to my place and had her show up in lingerie. She led him to my living room, got on her knees, and took her time sucking his dick. She made him cum in her mouth and swallowed like a good girl while I watched and had a drink. Then I let him watch as I fucked her in that lingerie. Halfway through he got hard again so I had her suck his dick while I took her from behind. She swallowed his second load while taking my cum in her tight little cunt. It was fucking hot, Ronnie. Like I said, your wife is incredible in bed."
Ron had never met the version of Mindy that Alex was describing and he wasn't sure how he felt about that. Was Alex being honest about Mindy being into it? Was she actually being blackmailed in some way? Was Alex just making up the whole thing to mess with Ron?
"She wants to be with me, you know."
"What do you mean?" Ron asked.
"She wants to be my girlfriend. To be mine. She probably wants to marry me some day. She wasn't specific about that, but she was very clear that she wants to keep seeing me even after the divorce is final."
Ron was surprised at how much the notion bothered him. It shouldn't have. Mindy wasn't his anymore. What the fuck did he care who she dated?
"I think she's going to be pretty broken up when I tell her that she and I are finished," Alex said as he crossed his arms. "Mindy's a hot piece of ass and all, but I have no intention of ever getting married and honestly, it's been a year and I've had my fill. I mean, there are desperate women in my office almost every day. I'll find another one like Mindy. I'll have my fun with her. Then I'll move on."
Ron stood with such violence that the chair toppled back with a thud. "You fucking asshole!"
Alex laughed. "That's the way of the world, Ronnie. I'm a divorce lawyer. I don't have a fucking soul. Your wife knew that. I told her in no uncertain terms that I would only take her case if she agreed to be my sexual plaything for six months before I filed. She was up for it, Ronnie. She knew I was a piece of shit and she was still up for it because she was so desperate for good dick."
Ron floated above his body and watched as he stepped forward and grabbed a fistful of Alex's shirt. His arm reared back and he very nearly threw a punch before all the angry energy drained out of him. Mindy wasn't worth it. Why was he on the verge of fighting for her honor? She was divorcing him. She'd cheated on him.
Ron came back into his body and his arm fell to his side as he stepped back. Alex laughed in his face and moved back to the other side of his desk.
"I am gonna take her anally before I dump her, though," he said. "She's resisted up to this point, but she's just about ready to break. As soon as she does, I'll use that ass hard for a night and then I'll give her the bad news."
Alex was something beyond a bad guy. He was borderline evil. Ron hated that he felt bad for Mindy. She'd been so awful to him, and yet he was certain that she deserved better than to be literally ass fucked and dumped by the man sitting across from him.
"What's wrong, Ronnie?" Alex asked.
"You're a piece of shit, that's what's wrong."
A booming laugh filled the room. "She cheated on you and now she's divorcing you and you want to rescue her from what you know is coming, don't you? Ronnie, that's fucking pathetic."
Ron knew that was the case, so he didn't argue. Instead, he reached for a pen and grabbed the divorce settlement from the desk. There were numerous tabs indicating where he needed to sign throughout the document so Ron got started.
"You can save her, you know."
Ron looked up. "What are you talking about?"
"I'm still going to break up with her, but you can save her from the humiliation of getting her ass fucked all night long before I break up with her."
"Why would I do that?"
"Because you're pathetic, Ronnie. That's why. For some reason you want to save her and I'm offering you the chance."
Ron looked back down at the settlement and turned to the next page that required his signature.
"What if I told you that I was going to invite that same friend? That he and I were going to take turns fucking your wife? That we were going to use her in every imaginable way before I dumped her?"
Ron hated Alex in ways he couldn't begin to describe.
"You could save her from that, Ronnie."
He looked up. "How?"
"I thought you'd never ask." The cocky smile appeared again. "You have to give it up."
"Give what up?"
A laugh. "Your mouth and your ass, Ronnie. You make me cum in her stead and I'll dump her without the degradation."
Ron was speechless once more.
"Cat got your tongue?"
"Wait, what? Why would you want to fuck me? Are you...are you into men?"
"My sexuality doesn't fit in a box, Ronnie. It defies description. I'm not attracted to you. Not in the slightest. I am, however, attracted to the idea of making you suck my dick and take it up the ass. I'm attracted to the rush of power I'd feel as you get on your knees and beg for the privilege of sucking my dick."
"You're vile."
"Yes, I am. You keep saying that like it's something I don't know. I know, Ronnie. I'm a terrible person. I don't give a fuck, though. I want what I want and I'm in position to try and get it. So, how badly do you want to save your wife from a night of degrading sex? How badly do you want to save her from suffering through a DP, from getting her ass fucked by two men, from taking multiple facials, from giving an ass to mouth blowjob?"
Ron knew there were men like Alex in the world, and yet he struggled to wrap his mind around the notion that the man sitting across from him was real, that he was capable of degrading Mindy for his pleasure, that he would use her and toss her aside. Ron had no doubt that Alex was telling the truth, though, that all he cared about was pursuing his pleasure.
Without saying a word, Ron finished signing the divorce papers and set them on the desk. "I'd like a copy of this," he said. "I'll wait."
Alex's face was unreadable, but Ron hoped he'd be disappointed. The lawyer sat still for a few seconds and then stood, took the divorce settlement, and left the office. He returned soon after and said, "Sarah will make the copy for you. If you wouldn't mind waiting in the reception area. I have another client coming in.
"Of course. It's been an absolute nightmare doing business with you, you piece of shit."
Alex smiled. "It's been a pleasure ruining your life and your beautiful wife, Ronnie."
Ron left the office and returned to the seat where he'd waited for Alex to show up. He didn't love that Mindy was going to suffer, but it also seemed possible that she wouldn't mind being treated the way Alex intended on treating her, and it certainly wasn't worthy subjecting himself to the humiliation of sucking dick and getting fucked. Not in a million years would that suffering be worth it.
Ron's phone rang. He pulled it from his pocket. Mindy's picture was on his screen. Ron had taken the picture on an anniversary trip. She was wearing a white one piece swimsuit, though it was the bright smile on her face that Ron loved. That smile was the reason he hadn't changed the picture.
He answered. "What can I do for you, Mindy?"
"Don't sign the divorce papers."
