cool thing I can add pictures to the description, so this blog entry will be more fun!
Everything as always starts in a rough sketch I made on paper :)
most of the time this sketch is enough to get a proper panel layout and poses.
After the sketch is placed over the format, the panels cut and everything. the definitive lineart is made.
Flat colors and backgrounds are placed.
I usually color the backgrounds first, so it help me imagine the placing of the character's lights and shadows later.
a soft cell shade technique is used for XEN pages- sometimes I decide not to "multiply" the shadow layers and I just make the layer less opaque.
AND THAT'S IT!
the whole process takes several hours, coloring must take from 2,5 -4 hours depending the number of characters present, background completixy or effects needed.
