here is my timed reaction to doctor who season 8 episode 6 "the caretaker"
so we get a bit more insight on danny this episode and so far idk how to feel about it!!!! but a fun episode and insightful for the doctor and clara relationship as well.

2025-08-28 16:32:45 +0000 UTCYeah I think people have already gone over it in the comments here but I think what Danny and the Doctor have are just two men in extremes, but ironically, kinda the same, both men of war who hated their part in it but it's like they kinda see the part they hate of themselves in the other which is why it's such a tinder box! It would help overall if we saw more good moments between Clara and Danny but think cause we've mostly seen the explosive parts it may be why it seems more tilted one way. But it's the Doctor and Danny judging the other one purely based on their own experiences rather than just the actual person I think, The doctor hates Danny purely because he's a solider and Danny hates the doctor because he sees him as a general, rather than two individuals who are more than just their 'professions' (excluding Maths and PE :p ) Also, what a flip Danny did! lol How about the mathematical angles on that! THAT's how you teach maths lol

2025-08-27 21:31:57 +0000 UTCI feel like Danny isn't totally unreasonable - like if I fell in love and started a relationship with someone and found out they were doing an incredibly dangerous activity on a daily basis and going out of their way to hide it from me I'd be upset.( obviously not time travel irl, but it could very well be a substance/gambling addiction, or base jumping, or cave diving. I do feel like this season draws a lot of parallels especially to a addiction/adrenaline junkie habit with Clara and Tardis travel actually, and how that affects relationships) Not upset because I feel entitled to control them at all, but because of the lying. As Danny kinda says, how must you think of someone not to trust them with your true self? I'd be really upset if I thought my partner didn't trust me. Also just the frustration of your partners best mate being nasty to your face on the first meeting and your partner expecting you to be nice to them in future encounters anyway.
