Please Approach The Stage

His smooth, confident voice booms through the speakers, and I can feel the weight of his words sinking into my mind. It's a little silly, I think—hypnosis, I mean. It’s all part of the show, right? People clapping and laughing, but none of it feels real to me. Still, there’s something oddly calming about his voice, the rhythmic cadence of his words.
As the minutes pass, my thoughts start to blur. I focus on his voice, but it seems like it's the only thing I can hear now. The noise of the crowd fades into a dull hum, and my body feels lighter, almost as though I’m floating. His instructions—those clear, steady instructions—begin to wrap around my mind like a soft, warm blanket, pulling me deeper, relaxing me more with every word.
Then, suddenly, his voice cuts through everything: “I need volunteers to approach the stage.” The command comes out in such a calm, smooth way that it almost feels... natural, like something I should do. And before I know it, my legs are moving on their own, carrying me down the aisle. My thoughts start to scatter, a vague fog clouding my mind as the words “approach the stage” echo inside me, over and over. My feet are moving almost without my permission, each step heavier, slower than the last, but I can’t stop.
How did I get here? My hands are clammy, and my face feels flushed with heat. I’m now standing at the foot of the stage, and I can feel the eyes of the audience on me. I glance around, confused, and I’m hit with a rush of realization—I'm on the stage. I don’t remember walking up here. I don’t even remember deciding to volunteer.
Embarrassment floods through me, and I freeze for a moment, looking out at the crowd as they stare at me. I feel so exposed, so utterly ridiculous. How did I get here? How did I let this happen? My mind is racing now, but I can’t move. Why am I still standing here? And where are my clothes?!
