At the end of the day theyโre kind of in the same boat even if he knows a lot more about the Gang, and how they operate etc.,than the listener does. Itโs sweet how he validates the listener and still lifts their mood without having to even bend the truth a little, even if everything the listener wants to hear is that theyโll get out soon, and can go back to their lives like normal etc.
