New Year Talk!

Happy New Year everyone!

We are in 2017 and this is the first Patreon post of the year.

Looking back to 2016, I just realized it's the most productive year of my art career... I'm surprised myself that I had drawn this many (though some artists made like twice or thrice as many lol) and this is yet to include those tier 4 requests and non-patreon stuffs.

(The arts are not summarized according to Patreon's monthly batch though.)

As you could see my productivity went downhill during June. I had a back injury there and since then my working quality had gone pretty much trash. I could not sit down and work longer than an hour continuously because I had to rest my back. I just recovered from it almost completely recently as you could see I tried to get back on track during the last December. In fact I'd say last month is my most productive month in a big while.

I have come this far because of you guys' supports and I appreciate every bit of that. THANK YOU.

It's funny how some people questioned Patreon campaign as a scam from artists. All arts should be free. Why "pay" the artists to draw things when you can find free fanarts on internet?

You know... Without the supports from you guys, you wouldn't see ANY of these arts I made at all. All of them on this picture would be gone. I won't be able to make them as I have mentioned that I was an artist for Japanese companies' hentai games and card games. Most of my works were not credited and I had no right to claim that I made them. They're heavily copyrighted and most of my art career had been in that way. I wouldn't have any spare time to draw these arts that I could say they're my works. I would have to get back there and keep working in the shadow.

But thanks to you guys, I could keep this running. I didn't have to make the unappreciated arts by worksheets' orders anymore. Now I can be Fuya that you guys notice, and hopefully I could be even more than that this year.

So here is my New Year resolution --- First, I want to focus on catching up the delayed Patreon workloads. They're promised. I won't skip any of them. With my recovered speed, I might be able to close the gap and eventually completely catch up within roughly 4 months. Let's aim for that.

Then I want to improve myself as a person. Here is the thing, due to Patreon, I have not been working out at all in 2016. Not even once lol, and that is really bad. I'm 29 but I feel like my friends with 35-36 years old are more pumped and energetic than me now. Not like I want to be muscular and sexy or all that, but I have to start going to gym more often to maintain my health and that would increase my productivity, hopefully.

And I might come up with some original artworks once in a while, too. So once I get to catch up the loads, you could expect that.

Soooo everyone, Happy New Year! I wish you guys wealth, lucks, and joy in 2017 and years to come! Have a great rocking year! :)

Hi Ainz-sama, I kinda get what you mean but you have to see it from the side of Fuya and other artists. If every supporter gets all rewards I’am certain a lot of people (me probably included, yeah I am aware D:) would just go for the minimum support. There needs to be some incentive for people to pay more and that’s the reason there are those tiers of pledge. Of course it sucks for people who live in poorer countries with bad currency exchange rates but that’s sadly unchangeable. And obviously making the pledge amount dependent on the patrons currency would just lead to people taking the best exchange rate for them again, if you were thinking about something like that. Maybe introducing a 5 Euro tier for half the rewards might be an option but judging from your post id say that wouldn’t sit well with you either. So the only thing I can confidently suggest is cutting back on other stuff that’s not essential, like for example drinks, cigarettes and all those things. I myself need to justify most of my purchases, especially if they are of a monthly basis because calculated over a year it can get quite high, but I do so with reducing the money spent on other things depending on what I buy just temporarily or permanently. Regarding the exclusivity of the art I don’t think that would be helpful for Fuya although it would definitely give patrons a bigger sense of reward, not that I think that’s actually a needed thing regarding art….even if other people would rather have something to themselves I think sharing this kind of thing is a good thing as long as its allowed by the creator and Fuya is sharing it himself already. (Or in short: It’s actually against Patreon rules to distribute artist work without permission so don’t) Personally I don’t mind Fuya “merely” censoring his art with just pixilation but I can understand a certain desire for stronger censoring, which might actually entice more people to join, with “might” being the keyword. I kind of like the preview censoring of Fuya like the Kanan, Nitrocris or Lucy one for example, I think its creative, interesting and a fun way of censoring. Alternative the Patreon-sign censoring as mostly present on his Facebook seems fine as well and makes people immediate aware that he’s on Patreon, which I think is a good thing. I did go a bit off on a tangent but I hope to have given you another perspective regarding your concerns.

I personally don't like the reward system because some people can't afford to give more money, and I think that everyone should get the same reward as long as their supporting the artist. I also feel like the images should be exclusive to patreon sins people are paying for it. I understand that artist want people to know about their patreon page and they end up showing pics off their latest work but they should just post a sample off how their work looks like not the whole picture because at that point it doesn't even feel special sins someone who isn't even supporting them get to see the whole image but just censored

And that’s also the hard part about understanding sport as something essential for oneself and not something that one has to force themselves to do every time because “reasons” One thing that helps me tremendously with my enjoyment of sport is music. Almost every time I do sport I listen to music sometimes when I’am in the mood for listening to music for a longer period of time I’am like: “I could go jogging/jump rope and at the same time enjoy my music.” And that’s what I do. I’am going to give you some basic exercises a bit further down which you can easily do while watching TV or listening to music but first. The next point “Consistency”: There should be no rush if you just want to be fit and healthy but don’t take that as an excuse to not train at all. Just find the pace that fits you the best and also improves your form. It’s VERY important to train regular and over a long period of time to gain good results and especially to stay fit, in that regard its completely fine to only do stamina training once every two weeks or train every muscle group once a week if your aim is only to hold your form though more (but not too much) training is always better. It’s also alright to take breaks and deviate from some training plan but you have to return doing regular training rather sooner than later which is what most people have trouble with this is mostly the part about thinking of sport of something good and essential like I wrote before. After this rather lengthy introduction I just wanted to share some basic training that doesn’t require going to the gym and can be done in as much as ~15 minutes a day with 2/3 training sessions a week. You can do one of the exercises each day if you like or all of em together. Though if you get into better shape, especially the stamina exercise is certain to require more than 15 minutes alone. First: Push ups Yes pushups are ideal to gain a good amount of arm and upper body strength you don’t need any equipment and can later vary the art of pushups a bit. I link you to a site that has a good program which may help you increase your strength. I want to note though you don’t have to do it in two months like they write on the side it’s just about the structure of the training which after you gained the, for you satisfying, amount of strength you can change to your liking. http://hundredpushups.com/test.html (sadly they changed the layout of the site since my last visit the new one aint as good anymore D:) Second: Sit-ups Sit-ups are also a very basic but very good exercise for your stomach area which actually benefits, like your back as well, from a strong muscular system and you need only a towel and something heavy or a SOLID cabinet where you can put your feet under. Third: Jump rope (I guess someone was expecting squads eh?) Jump roping trains your whole body and is an excellent stamina exercise especially for beginners. I’d suggest getting a plastic covered wire rope with weights in the handles. You can take the weights out until you gain more arm strength and put them in when you like for an even better exercise. Try to aim for increasingly higher consecutive jumping times, like for example 5 minutes then 10, 15, 20 and so on until you are satisfied with your stamina. I want to mention that I personally recommend doing some stamina training which makes you sweat a good amount (but I don’t want you to dehydrate T_T) because sweating as far as I’ve read has a lot of additional health benefits on top of the usual training. You could also add Jogging or biking here but apart from getting good equipment (good footwear/bicycle) and having a nice area to perform those exercises it comes just down to preferences. Bonus back training superman: Because of your back problem id recommend a simple exercise for your back until you feel the need and safe to perform more difficult exercises. Here are two variations of the exercise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc6UVRS7PW4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp7akgClo0U Those are just some basic exercises if you feel fitter and enjoy sport there are a lot of similar exercises which you can do for example with a doorframe pull-up bar. PS: Yes this is longer than I expected and you may already know this all :3 but I hope there was something in there for someone that was helpful. PPS: Yes this is three Word pages of text

Heya Fuya :), Let’s all enjoy ourselves another year of art, beauty and all other pleasant things that exist. :) I’am going to start the year with another big wall of text but only because I feel it’s appropriate so please forgive me <3 First of the “Art should be Free!” Topic: As Frank Leo already pointed out: Every work should pay off. Just because the internet and many sites and personalities that trade with “free stuff” cultivated this perception to some degree it doesn’t mean there are no people creating said things. And those people need to live themselves and sadly one needs money for that. But to some degree I understand the underlying thought. Currently there is already a humongous amount of free art available and it’s getting more and more and people see the sheer amount of it and think “Why should I suddenly pay for it?” What a lot of people don’t think about, why most of it is free. Either it’s something the creator did in his free time and wanted to share on his own accord or it’s pirated. In the first case that a nice thing but it’s primarily the goodwill of the artist to share his free time with everyone else. In the latter it actually hurts artist like every form of piracy and I don’t think I have to go into detail for that. Because of that I personally try to support my favorite artists when I can if possible and am happy for the community and existence of Patreon because I feel in its current state it’s a good foundation to support artists of all kind. My only regret is hearing about Patreon rather late. :O God that turned out longer than I expected T_T, next part xD “I'm 29 but I feel like my friends with 35-36 years old are more pumped and energetic than me now.” Part of it may indeed be a difference of health or just attitude but what I like to tell my friends from time to time: You are only as old as you yourself feel you are! Your mental condition has A LOT of an influence over your physical appearance and well-being so thinking positive helps and with being fit and doing sport you can further improve your well-being And now the main topic I wanted to share :“Getting in Shape” That’s one of my favorite topics! (I really mean it!) First of I’am glad to hear you want to get into shape (again?) and I hope It’s not just the usual one month determination that the majority feels from time to time. Therefore I want to give you some personal input to hopefully create a persistent determination/passion. (am I overdoing this :?) A question to begin: Are you one of those people who need to financial invest into something to feel more compelled to, in this case train, and do something? If you are there’s nothing wrong with going to the gym. If you are not though I may suggest doing some more basic training, especially because you wrote your aim aint to be muscular, either way I have some things I want to share. First of if you want to get fit and more importantly STAY FIT you need to create the right mindset for yourself and keep working out more or less consistently. I suggest thinking of training/sport of something that’s essential to you and your body because if you want to be healthy it actually is and doing sport itself can have immediate benefits. If you feel lethargic or in a general bad mood even a short training sessions can improve your mood quite a bit, that is if you can muster the will to do them which is the hardest part!

I love that you are so eager in your work for us you are a good and nice person. With that I say a Happy New Year to you.

Erwin Doppler

Happy New Year. ... and I fully disagree with the so-called "free arts", artists are also human beings that have needs and lives ... just like each one of other non-artist humans, artists need "money". ... besides, why should artworks be free? ... would a chef give a free meal just we ask for it? ... would a hooker grant free fuck just we ask it? ... would a car-dealer gift a free Toyota just we ask it? ... of course, No. Same for artworks.

Frank Leo

Looking forward to seeing more of your work in the coming year, loved everything that I've seen so far.

Looking after you self is the main thing, you don't wanna throw your back out again by over extending yourself. The last thing you want when you're in your 50's+ is massive back pains all because you kept pushing yourself.

Happy new year! Hope you GET FIT and have a 2017 at least as productive as 2016!
