Important Announcement on Tier Changes

(For too long didn't read people, you can just read only the bold texts, but I highly recommend you to read them all if you have some spare time)
- Milestone Goal Changes
I just removed the $3000 milestone goal promising about the artbook.
I don't think it's currently possible caused by many problems; I won't have enough time to manage the arrangement of artbook. If you are an artist and ever made one, you'd know how time consuming it would be, and considering I couldn't even finish the monthly rewards in time, I don't think I'm capable of making book, for now at least.
Plus if I were to make an artbook, I won't just throw in stuffs I already made for Patreon in it and be done. It's not gonna be fair. I'd look forward to make a reasoning amount of exclusive arts for it so people getting the book would actually profit from buying one, not just for the sake of having a hard copy of seen works. Right now I really can't afford spending time to create those exclusive arts.
I WILL open up this artbook milestone goal again when I'm ready. I'm striving my hardest to work faster and hope that one day I'm quick enough to work on monthly rewards and create extra arts without cutting myself apart.
And for those who might have noticed, yes, I also removed the promised hentai comic project goal. This doesn't mean I stopped thinking about it, but at the current circumstance, I don't have enough time. This though, will be the first prioritized thing I would consider making if I could manage my working schedule to be faster. The reason I deleted it because the new Patreon profile layout would just keep displaying only the latest reached goal. Having this goal up there will be nothing but a decoy for many questions to come.
- Tier Changes: Tier 2 ($5) Will be Removed
Now this is another very important change.
I'm removing Tier 2 ($5),
making most of the rewards NSFW friendly.
This change will occur after the reward package of February is delivered during the 8th-9th of March. I will inform you again with the post and will send notes to remind all the Tier 2 patrons at that time. You could either removing, lowering, or raising your pledge tier. It's up to your decision. Do not change your pledge just yet or you won't receive the February's rewards like you have planned as the February payment cycle has not started yet.
The reason for this is that all my works done here are meant to be NSFW or at least major fanservices, but to make them able to be posted on some other sites with strong policy, (Deviantart for example) I need to put major censorship on and ended up having to make all the "safe versions" for every single one of them.
This led to more work as I have to make the nude/nsfw versions first which requires me to draw the full nudity most of the time, then make the clothing layers to cover up and try to get the finished images looking not so lewd as known as them safe versions to be able to post them on those websites. This is always a pain since it consumes extra huge amount of time and it strictly limits the posing and concept of each images to very few choices (to make this easier to understand, let's say some lewd poses are down right impossible to make safe version without end up making them look funny so with this safe version thing going on, it's impossible to draw many sexy time poses.)
But since I've grown some supports thanks to you guys, I feel like I could care less for the outside world and lean towards more over the nsfw train I'm planning to get on. I'm a fanservice/hentai artist after all :D
This will also make the Tier 5 requests nude-friendly. (you can still request a safe pic, too, up to you)
So after the change, we will have Tier 2 removed, and the old Tier 3 will become Tier 2, Tier 4 will become Tier 3, and Tier 5 will become Tier 4. We will have only 4 tiers left in total.
I can't say this is permanent change though. I will try if it works well for probably a couple months. If it doesn't, then back to the old method.

Good to know there's a supporter from DA :) It really works differently depending on many factors though. For Tumblr, yes it's like what you said. It's almost impossible to get exposure without a reblogging from famous users. My suggestion might sound pretty solid but I'd say keep trying. You would need good artist friends who's on the same level of skill/popularity and help each other out. Not just a few, but many. I've worked my way out using this method. Join communities on social medias and be parts of their crew. If you're not that godlike skilled artist, this is like the path all famous online artists had surpassed. Nobody gets crazily popular over night. But if you're that great, Pixiv or other sites with good ranking and community system would be a great choice. You wouldn't have to bother doing much. Just put in the right tags and people will see your works. It's very comfortable for artists who's already got a grip of what they're doing. But be sure to get supports from your close artist friends. Without the push from those who knows you well, it's really hard to get into higher places. The artist community, anime style especially, is too small to act independent. You'd need a good neighborhood.

2016-03-15 20:08:19 +0000 UTCI was one of those few patrons who found you on DA. Where would you advise a relatively new artist to post their works besides DeviantArt? I agree that the admins are pretty crappy, doubling the price of premium for absolutely no additional benefits over last year. I've tried to post on Tumblr, but it seems really really hard to get your foot in the door. Unless you're lucky enough to get a reblog from a popular person, it seems impossible to get exposure. I wish there were Tumblr "groups" like there are on DA. And Pixiv is tough if you don't know moon runes.

I'm really want to support you in this tier too hope that I'll stumble on this page when slot is available ^^ And about DA community I'm agreed with you after read many bad story from Thai or foreign artists. One of the story said that DA is like gathering place of SJW (Social Justice Warrior) that make judgement to any artists who's draw NSFW or even a bit sexy to Loli or Loli-like character. When they found anyone who drew this type of art then they'll point a finger to that artist and label them as a sick pedophile :\ and will try to ban him/her from society by throwing ban hammer to their account without asking or listen from the artist themselves.

I hardly gain new watchers even with the massive groups submission on every single deviations. The community is big indeed, but it doesn't have good quality and the system, is killing itself. It's now more like a commission portal and even the layout is so old-fashioned. While posting stuffs on Pixiv gets me into the ranking every time. without putting in that much effort. The staffs and the community are SO nice.

A fanart should portrait the character being fanart-ed of. Would be glad to have you as tier 5 fella again some day :)

Also Da's community is also garbage I can agree with you there. Well either way for me it's hard to update so many places at once, you're best focusing on the communities that are the easies. Tumblr is nice because the don't care what you post.

2016-02-29 22:17:37 +0000 UTCThey are indeed the largest online artist community in the world right now, but that doesn't mean it gives largest exposure to your works since the system is dying. No way you could gain more views if you don't throw your deviations into massive amount of groups, and even after the effort you put through that, it's not worthy. People who's big there is caused by the followers from old ages. There's no way newcomers could get enough exposure from the site no matter how good they are because the community is too big (yet crappy and toxic) I made a thread on where did my patrons find me and why did they end up supporting me and among the almost hundred of comments, only a few fellas said they found my work on DA. Deviantart users rarely became patreon supporters. (hell majority of the community even are patreon haters) My patrons (plus most of the artists' patrons I know) came from Facebook, Tumblr, Reddit, and Patreon itself. Despite being an enormous art community, DA gives so tiny profit to Patreon creators. plus DA and its toxic arrogant community did horrible things to me and my fellow artists. They don't give a damn about us then I don't give a damn about them. If the pictures drawn are too lewd to be posted on DA, then I won't post them on DA anymore. I just stopped caring for that site lol.

They aren't very friendly towards NSFW artists BUT they are the largest art community on the web and the highest chance for you to net more support and publicity. However, just hop on the Hentai train lol. I would recommend still post stuff on deviantart but instead of making clothes for the characters, either crop the picture tastefully (the face and some cleavage is good). I personally don't censor nipples on my pictures Deviantart, it give people a little of what they want. Then fluids, penetration or more hardcore Hentai stuff for Patreon only (people see that as fair, so you aren't censoring everything). Also if you don't have to bother with the censorship you can spend time on more characters.
