Next Chapter Poll
Added 2023-12-09 23:20:07 +0000 UTCI'm at a point where I have outlines for a few stories and got to crack down on filling one out as the next chapter to follow Day in the Life... so why not let the people decide? We can follow one of two possible paths for Wacky Candy, or try something new with a TTRPG flavoured fantasy series.
Don't worry about splitting the vote between the two Wacky Candy chapters, if the fantasy comic gets less than 50% I'll go with the leading WC option.
Wacky Candy: Katie - Back at home, Katie's problems grow bigger and bigger as she struggles with her size and renewing her relationship with Brian. But maybe, finding a way to keep her juiced and mobile will be just what's needed to bring them closer. Primary focus on blueberry inflation, de-juicing, struggling with immobility.
Wacky Candy: Carrie - Carrie finds herself unexpectedly back in the purple suit and with a new ally in escaping and sabotaging the orbital fun factory, Cat. The company has been overrun by its own success, with two little staff to manage the growing production line. It would be a perfect opportunity to take over the company or its portal technology, if it weren't for Kasia, the buff berry assigned to shadow her. Narrative focus with a menagerie of weight gain sizes and candy transformations, and Carrie adapting to assistive devices to do her job - or just stay mobile enough to escape.
Fantasy inflation comic - working title "Is It Okay To Fatten The Mage In A Dungeon?" - The barbarian has spent her life perfecting herself as a vessel of steel, a cold ruthless killing machine -- and suddenly finds herself overwhelmed with feelings of care and warmth for her fellow magician when the latter is accidentally inflated to immobility. The magician is cured, albeit with some stubborn chub remaining, and the barbarian can't help but wonder if she can nudge the magician back to her larger size permanently. Of course, barbarian's schemes might go better if she hadn't dumped her Intelligence stat. Focus on gradual weight gain - both thin to immobile fat and buff to big strongfat - interspersed with other types of rapid expansion/de-expansion such as slime and berry. And a disaster lesbian who doesn't know how to admit her feelings, even to herself.

My favourite comments for Panspermia were always the folks like "I came here for kink and stayed for the worldbuilding"

Your poll is going to lean toward a Wacky Candy story because it's familiar, beloved, etc. Fewer people will click on the new fantasy comic simply because we don't know what it is yet... but it might be our new favorite thing. We don't know anything! I loved Panspermia and The Promotion, and I loved coming back to Wacky Candy after those comics. If your intention is to do all 3 ideas eventually, start with the one that excites you as an artist and storyteller right now and don't worry about us yahoos in the comments.

I love tabletop and wanna grab on the hype of the D&D movie and Baldur's Gate, but I also know that I left Wacky Candy hanging for a long while when I did Panspermia and people might not like a longer gap again. But Katie can definitely reflect some things I've been through recently. And I'm sure people want to see her happy - me included.

Her story is the most emotionally complex. Transformed against her will, spent a year as a villain "just following orders," escaped leaving others behind. Girl's got some stuff to work through.

2023-12-09 23:37:11 +0000 UTCAlso the idea of the other three ladies wanting to help Katie but worried if they get exposed they’ll blimp up instantly and Katie helping Erica with her own transformation ie, the idea Erica never stopped transforming but she’s a lot slower compared Mads so Erica is further along but still able to hide it. That make sense?
