Obligatory flashback opening, maybe not the best plan on Mauer's part but she's an asteroid jockey and can handle it, and also I really liked that one panel from last chapter with the reflection on Mauer's visor and wanted to make myself struggle by repeating it.
The ship uses liquid droplet cooling when burning its engines. Liquid coolant goes along the engines and is dispersed as droplets into space where they radiate heat, collected by a stationary collector, and go back around again. It's a great lightweight solution to dispersing heat if you're only going in a straight line, which these ships typically are. You're not supposed to be spinning around like this because it's not like you can go around with a big ol' scoop to get all the coolant back... maybe Mauer should have mentioned this before, overheated engines get kinda dicey... hmmmm
