January 2026 Update

Hey everyone!
Figured I'd post my monthly update as usual. I still plan on releasing the build this month, had some health related issues with the family this month that sort of took me away but still working toward a release. Next weekend I plan to let a few trusted people to some alpha testing to catch any game breaking bugs and then I should be looking at a beta build release probably around the 25th of January. I usually give that build a week or two and then I update my itch webpage. Unless something happens, I'm planning on having the build out for my discord and patrons on the 25th for people to play.

Now then regarding game updates, more of the same as previous months as it is a fairly large game so updating arts, sprites, sounds, music, and code is a long process. In particular this month I've been going though and making changes to enemy encounters and skills.

New Art:
I'll start with some new artwork this month. Lunarpix finished up some new art of the fertility statues that you can find throughout the game. FluffyFuffer spent an incredible amount of time working on getting these characters ready before the update. First we have the earth/life witch at the academy. Secondly shown here is the progression art of Nimune, the fortune telling succubus of Neko village. There is still more progression art planned for her but a good look at what you can expect.

Skill Updates:
Many of the player skills have been revamped and significant reduced. The goal was to limit skill bloat as well as help me sort of control how damage is applied in boss battles. Expect overall to have 4 unique skills on each character, roughly 1 new skill learned each chapter. One difference from this is the addition of unique skills tied to crafted weapons. Powerful crafted weapons will offer you an additional unique skill that is tied to that particular weapon.
Dalmia's blessing skills are mostly tied to the crystals you have and will change depending on the crystals equipped.

Enemy Updates:
Most enemies will now have between three to four skills that they can rotate though to use on the party. Most overworld enemies shouldn't be difficult and often would be killed either for the experience or the charms they drop which is used in the crafting system. Most enemies as well will have new chibi art and new sprite art to match their new chibi look.

Boss Updates:
This is a large one that has been very difficult for me. I've mentioned several times on my discord that combat programing is my weak spot for rpg maker. That said, I've dug in a bit to help make boss encounters feel more unique and impactful than boss uses same attack over and over again. Expect to see several boss encounters revamped, both to add a bit more of a challenge/puzzle to beat them and to incorporate new story elements. The boss encounters that we encounter in the later chapters will not be revamped as much, a large focus was on the encounters in the early and mid game.

Combat UI Update:
I may have mentioned this before but I have updated the combat UI to a front facing mode instead of the side battler mode. This allows me to add in several new things to combat without having to dance around the side battlers. I plan to leave the side battlers in the game and it will be a togglable option but by default the front view battle system will be the main system going forward.

Crafting Update:
A new crafting menu was made to allow you to craft the items you need. Crafting is broken up into four categories, consumables, weapons/armor, trinkets, and gems. Consumable crafting can be done at any tavern or unique kitchens. When interacting with a new crafting station in a new location, you automatically unlock a new recipe that is tied to that location. Weapon/Armor crafting can only be done in a few unique locations in the game but most notable is the lakeview smith couple. Trinket crafting too has only a few locations, one of them being introduced in a new building in Lakeview! Gem crafting is a little more unique. It has been used in a previous build and is coming back as a way to upgrade weapons and armor. The various charms and ores/herbs you collect can be used to create gems which in turn can be slotted into weapons/armor/trinkets/crystals to make them stronger. The goal with this system is if you had a particular weapon you liked from the early game but stat wise doesn't match with late game equipment, you can upgrade it to reach those stat levels or more!

Corruption Update:
One new thing regarding enemies however is that certain enemies will have unique abilities that can affect your pregnancy. For example slime creature attacks have a chance of having a party member catch a slime corruption. Once a corruption is caught, a unique image will pop up on screen showing that you have caught a corruption. While a corruption is present on a character, your stats will be affected slightly, you will gain a new ability, and when giving birth, you will not birth divine seeds but a result of the corruptions you have. In this case the slime creature will result in slimes being born, granting you additional slime charms!
Here is a list of the current implemented corruptions.
Current Corruptions:
-Slime pregnancy
-Demon egg pregnancy
-Spider egg pregnancy
-Overgrown Seed pregnancy
-Elven Divine seed pregnancy
-Dragon egg pregnancy
-Ghost possession pregnancy
-Lactation (Not a corruption but coded very similarly as one.)

Lore Journal:
Saved the best for last here, the main image shown in this post is a new plugin being used called the lore journal. This is unlocked when you first speak with leah's mom in the early part of the game. Once unlocked, you can go to your pause menu to access it. It will unlock the artwork of the various characters you encounter on your journey. It will too have a small message from leah's point of view of the various characters she's encountered on her adventure. The purpose of this is both to give the players a much easier time to see the various arts of the characters they have encountered in the game as well as way to credit the artist who put time into the characters. The next build the will still have the CG view in the crystal room but likely in the final build that area will be removed since the lore journal will be a much more efficient method of showing off the character CGs.

Ok, so a summary of some of the changes you can expect to see. Just a reminder, this next build is more of a system and game update build and will not feature any new main story content outside of some small revisions to older chapters. Thanks again for your support and look forward to sharing the build later this month with you all!

Im loving the game and started a second play through for the update. I don’t know if I’m the only person to have this issue but when I start the fight with the bandit in the woods I get an error loading the image and can’t continue playing
