June 2021 Game Updates

Hey everyone, wanted to post this update a bit early since I'll be busy the next couple of days. This one might be a long one so I'll post a quick summery for those who just want the quick notes on what is going on with the game and what to expect for the month.

Quick Notes:
-New game maps have been developed as well as old maps updated
-Enemy Overhaul system
-New skill interface
-Pyramid dungeon
-More side quests added to cowgirl ranch
-Adding in new side quests for commissioned characters
-Hopefully new build by the end of June.

Ok, so starting on game news. For the past several weeks I have had another developer working on the maps for the game. This helps me out so that I can spend time working on systems and content instead of worrying about building maps for said content. As many of you have seen, I also made a quick and short game as well to celebrate maternity (The Fertile Farm). I just released a bug fixed build today so hopefully for the most part it should be complete.

Starting this week, I should be getting the game build back and then I will go full time back into seeds development. With that said, I do want to preface this that my focus will be on "new content". This means that minor bugs mentioned may have to go by the wayside for a bit, I promise I will get back to them. The largest focus will be completing the pyramid dungeon as well as adding in the side characters that have been commissioned. Many people mentioned they really enjoyed the cowgirl ranch so I intend to continue some of the story there as well as likely make some adjustments on how the "milking" process works. The enemy overhaul system is still a work in progress but I think overall it will actually be really good for the game as then I can make combat encounters feel more unique. I will also be adding new attack skills on some of the older enemies to change things up. Finally I will also be putting in the new skill interface. Ok... so the bad news with this is that it will likely require a fresh game. I will work on the debug room so you can quickly skip content but unfortunately with this plugin this is something that will have to happen. However, you will now have a clean interface for skill upgrades as well as in time some unique art for each skill interface for the three characters. Also there will be some new skills added to the characters as well. If all goes well, I should hopefully have an early build ready by the end of the month. Also I will be making a poll here on patreon regarding NSFW art that I may look into adding into the game and your thoughts on it.

Ok, now on to some patreon changes. So with this I wanted to preface this with a little bit of what is going on in my life at the moment. When I started seeds of destiny, I also had just recently had a daughter. During the early days of this project, I had a lot more time to work on the game and get things done however as time has passed and my daughter has grown, I find myself with less and less time to work on the game. To be clear, I intend to finish seeds so don't worry about me leaving the project but this means that people will have to be patient as my family life comes first over the development of the game. I will continue to work on the game but just wanted to let people know that I have a limited time every day to work on it so progress might be slow at times. Ok, with all of that said I am going to make some changes to a couple of patreon pledges due to the less time I have in general.

-The $500 and $1000 strech goals will be removed: Given all the other pledges as well as game development and less time in general, I unfortunately wont be able to fulfill these goals. Since we haven't reached them yet it should affect anything but wanted to make it clear so that people don't wonder what happened.

-The $300 goal will still continue but will simply be character scenes drawn by Lunatic 2028 with no background: So I did find last minute someone to create the first scene image but quickly found out that it takes a lot of time to do it. I don't want to keep you guys waiting a couple of months at a time to see results so once the first commission is over, I plan to work with Luna who mentioned she is willing to do scene art if there isn't a background. Also regarding the moving image software, I did get that to work but quickly found that using it for the games will make the file size increase rapidly. Given seeds is already a large game, I will not be using it for seeds but likely will use it for smaller games in the future.

Finally, I want to say thank you to you all. Again this project is as great as it is due to your help and contributions which has made such amazing art for the game. I plan to hopefully have an early release build out around the end of June so looking forward to seeing what you all think. Thanks!
