Rogue-Like Update 01-14-2025 (and poll)
Added 2025-01-15 03:30:55 +0000 UTCJust checking in. I'm hard at work on the upcoming version, as well as a few tweaks that I'll probably put out in a final build of 1.6. It's time for the poll to see who gets a new 69 pose. For those not keeping track, Betsy and Doreen got theirs, then Rogue won the first poll and got hers in version 1.6, so who'll be getting one in 1.61? Everyone will get one eventually, so this is just a matter of figuring out the order. I'll also be doing a poll later for adding in a story event.

Yeah, I've thought of doing this, but haven't really gotten around to it. Might be something fun to work on from time to time.

In public areas like the pool, mall, and danger room, add silhouettes similar to the ones in the classroom to the background. It just feels very empty to be considered a public place. Also when you do public scenes the dialog says more and more people start to watch, so you could probably add a few silhouettes every time this message appears until "quite the audience" is watching. Some could have their arms up when "the crowd cheers", maybe throw in a few camera flashes, etc. Would be a cool detail to see in the future but not really an issue.

I am alive, I have a lot of the artwork done for 1.61, and I'm working on some optimization that will hopefully speed things up quite a bit without breaking too much.

2025-02-13 23:05:52 +0000 UTCI could look into making her top available like that, for the most part only a few jackets in the game work that way, because it both complicates all the sprite coding a bit, and also I sometimes need to add specific bra artwork to cover that variation. Also, girls are already reluctant to lick up from an ass, it requires relatively high inhibition stat, otherwise the text will default to them using their hands instead for that part.

It would be cool to have it as an option. Another minor feature that might be cool would be for (most of?) the girls to be more reluctant to eat cum from certain places, in particular their ass or another girl's ass. It would could be another minor place to add some corruption/resistance. I don't think either of these would take significant art or major coding. Hopefully they catch your interest, but either way I'm a big fan of the game.

2025-01-22 13:55:13 +0000 UTCBuilding the animation sequences can take a lot of time, but by this point I have some basic "concepts" to work with for those (and a lot more experience in the systems so it takes less trial and error to hit the notes I want), and putting them together takes at most about 1/4 as long as building out all the clothing items for that pose. It would be a time savings, but not a huge one. I would say that of all the time I spend on the game, it would be like 40% building art assets in Photoshop, 40% "written stuff," such as coding sequences and writing dialogue and other stuff that happens in the script editor, and animating things would be maybe 20%, give or take (more when I was just getting started on such things). And so yeah, the more art stayed the same, the less work would need to go into it, I would definitely save time on expressions, at the very least, but the more I would want to differentiate between the two, the more work that would be involved.

To my mind the notion of just being able to copy the animations and programming end with minor changes would reduce development burden, but I see why the art burden takes up the majority of the dev time. I'd envisioned it as more of adding a "new hair option" since the already existing hair and clothes would still fit, but I know almost nothing about back-end development of the project and couldn't say.

While I do still have the old art files around, they aren't actually included in the newest builds, and including both sets would complicate things, especially if I added new visual options and didn't update the original version. As for Wanda, if she gets piercings, it does cause them to stick out permanently, but otherwise this isn't currently an option (although you can always just keep her entertained).

I'll just say that if it did happen, it wouldn't just be a lazy asset flip. It would be weirder. I would also say that "just giving her new hair and clothes" is basically like 80% of a character, visually. The underlying body is more creatively challenging, but the stuff on top of it tends to take up the most time, since it needs layers, up and down bits, to apply to every version of the character model. So if I *just* changed her lines and kept all the visuals the same, that would be a manageable 1-2 patch project. but if I'm going to have different outfits for her, I might as well build an entirely different model. . . just a thought.

I've already put in a thing that should allow you to pause new characters being added, and there's the method with Xavier to boot some girls out of rotation temporarily, but I'll probably need to add a more casual way to say "don't highlight these girls for now, because I'm more focused on these over here."

While I do enjoy unhinged Jean Grey in this, I was thinking that she really acted more like Madelyne Pryor than Jean. While this was nothing new, it did make me realize that you could add in Madelyne to take over the unhinged Jean Grey character and then put in Jean as the "good twin" with minimal dev-burden for new art; effectively adding a fully-featued new girl in a single build, only needing to write her dialogue and maybe make a 'good girl' hairstyle and outfit. Plus adds the potential for some twincest hookups. Just a thought.

So when they eventually start initiating 69, it's effectively making it much harder to satisfy them without the player character cumming first.

As for using both hands (and girls doing more complex interactions), I guess it comes down to complexity. I track four "actions" during sex, the "main one," which is typically attached to the primary visuals, your single "offhand" action, then one action that the main girl could do other than that main action, then an action that a second girl could do (which were a bit simpler). If I want to add more actions, then I need to add more variables, then those variables would need to be checked each cycle to see how they would add dialogue and lust gain, and most complicatedly, I would need to make sure things were "deconflicted," so that nobody is using body parts that are already "checked out" by some other activity. Also every sprite in the game has to check against these things for displaying those little hands and such. I'll keep it on the back burner for now, thinking of the best way to add these things without overloading it, but let's just say it's complicated.

On similar note: If possible, think you could make secondary actions like linking and touching more effective at filling up the girls orgasm/arousal bars during 69's. At the moment they feel kind of weak, compared to the effectiveness of the girl's action. Also, our guy has two hands, it would be great if he could use one hand on the main girl and use the other to do things like fingering and rubbing the second girl during threesomes in the future.
