Bride of Deimos | KYOTO VIDEO

An early gothic horror shoujo gets itself an anime! Can it survive a marked down budget to deliver the promise of spooky, atmospheric gothic fiction?

I'd say all of those are on the list somewhere.

The two Shojo OVAs that I remember from early fandom were "Here is Greenwood" and "They were 11". The Later being a sci-fi adaptation of a modern ghost story. Greenwood is pretty much it's own thing, though it had a lot of male fans for being shojo (main cast is male, not much shojo AI (some of which is fourth-wall breaking jokes). That particular style of Shojo, never really made it far into anime (it's cousins in other genres did pop up through the 80s). On the Gothic front, do you ever plan to tackle Takahashi's "Laughing Target", that's fairly gothic (as are the Mermaid Stories). We did a triple podcast on the Original Rumic World Pieces, and my partner was convinced that Laughing Target was an early development influence on the Nasu-verse (I'm inclined to agree). Will we ever see Wingman? Very early Masakazu, and evidence for how hard Shonen Jump was chasing Shonen Sunday's "big two". Wingman being ersatz Urusei Yatsura, while I'd argue Orange Road is aimed at Adachi's works.
