Making the Aurora (it's pretty easy!)

And at the end- diving into a mystery that will take us on an adventure through time and space.

Loved all the Aurora talk!

Nicolas Spitalier

Omg! I love it!

Sebastian Dratewka

😂 your attempt at an Aussie accent was gold haha! Onya legend!

David

Preferred when it was more sci-fi focused. Kinda become washing lines and aurora's...

Tim Whiteman

very nice results! it could be interesting to add some noise to the mapping coordinates connected to the color gradient, to break the transitions up a little. or would that be unrealistic? (i sadly didn’t see the aurora borealis irl)

Noah Hitz

Allthough unretalted to this video... Workflow tip I dont see Ian use: ALT + Q to jump between diferent objects in edit mode (Or sculpt or any mode) Once you try it you love it

MOM! Ian's doing magic again!

Destrier

I'm all in for "Potted history : location names edition" :D

David McSween

You've posted a boat wake on Instagram stories a few days back. Can you show us how that was made?

This is great - and very timely. I didn't consider something as simple as this for rocket exhaust, which I'm currently struggling with in a project. Using a simple object with a volumetric emission shader is what I should have tried all along!

Thomas Sturm

Going to watch Wayne's World after that.

Simon Salord

So cool. Is the driving through market series still a thing? I was really looking forward to that!

Daniel.skomo

Now I can locate aurora borealis entirely whithin my kitchen

Blemonade

WOO! more Ian content! my absolute favorite. 🤍

Jack_Wolfe

For some reason Ian skimming over the map of the area near where I live was exciting to me. also that was some serious research xD it was really fun to see the condensed version. :D

Ian Letarte

Great tutorial Ian, perfect timing for an upcoming project. Thank you.

Oanis

Finally, first video you upload since my sign up to your patreon. Wow! I feel so updated.

Omar Sharky

Love this. Love how you went on a research adventure too ahaha!

Blake Rizzo

Came in for the tut, stayed for the story

As someone who has lived painfully close to Aurora Illinois, (and consequently has hung out there a lot) I literally thought I was tripping out when you went down that rabbit hole at the end, also in general the historical societies of the towns in the area are very invested, definitely worth a read :)

Platyelf

I'm always astounded by how quick Ian can throw together something that looks sick. Was expecting him to just toss in a few photos he took from the kitchen and fade them in/out. Going harder on the realism of everyday objects sounds cool, basically Chris Jones in a nutshell.

Chris Hayes

Boy wait till you hear that I almost named myself Aurore, which is the French version of Aurora, because I just really liked that lady who could never manage to off herself in Delicatessen

Lucien Vedego

ian i managed to set up a piston using damped tracks today are you proud of me. also don't pay any mind to any auroras in my upcoming works

Chromfell

I LITERALLY thought “hm when will the next tutorial be released, really would love to watch one now” just 5 minutes ago and BOOM

Julius Lotter

Ian you are a legend bro, thanks for all your guidance. I don't make movies but I will use your techniques to make my renders and animations more realistic. Thanks for all the work man honestly and keep up the grind

Render Revolution
