What do you want to learn in 2025?

My fellow bassists,

Now that I'm back from tour, I can finally start to plan things here on Patreon! I hope you enjoyed the exercises and updates I posted throughout the tour - now it's time to figure out a plan for the year.

Let me know what you want to see in 2025! You can pick multiple options and also please leave a comment if you want something that is not listed here.

Lastly, please let me know in the comments if you prefer short exercise videos or longer 10-20 minute practice routines.

Thanks!

Regarding the duration of the videos: to me it depends on the topic. If it can be done in a short video then let's go for it. If a longer video would be better for us (maybe because of the example and the theory behind) we should do 10 to 20 minutes. I prefer small bitable sizes in general.

Maybe play with rhythm more dude

A harmonics deep dive would be awesome when you have a chance

Ikkkk but the notes I come with sound crap😭😭

Jonas Chan

Same as Mr Moore the flash stuff is brilliant but most of us probably just need to be better at the basic things we would be asked to do xx

Remember, as Wooten says, there are no wrong notes!

Adrian Moore

Sorry, that wasn't a critique of that list, although I can see how it reads that way now. Apologies. It was a more general comment. This list is solid. For bassline composition and improv, you could have exercises where you work in a chord progression and have to create a line with say two notes, then three notes, then four notes etc. then you must include just minims, then add crotchets, then quavers, then semiquavers etc etc.. Could be pretty cool!

Would love a breakdown of the lesson by victor wooten

10-20min practice videos would be beneficial for sure.

Good to know - that’s what I’m trying to cover under “improv/composition” which could also be called “bassline construction”. Good fingerstyle technique also helps a lot with that. A common misconception is that having good technique only helps you play faster, but actually it helps everything from timing to feel and more

The last few levels of the ten levels of tap 🙏🙏 and honestly if you’d tab out your new stuff with Bernth that’d be sick

Drake

Being honest, what I really want from you is how to be a better bass player. I am not interested in learning crazy tap or slap sizzle reel songs from the internet etc (no disrespect to them). I just want solid technique and theory lessons

Adrian Moore

Would love to learn impro and composition technique, also like a quick guide of the steps to learn how to identify which notes can be used for impro in a song, if that poll wins 🙏🙏
