At first I thought It was just my internet that messed up the audio 🥲

Also Fun Fact: any teeth you see in his videos are real teeth! He’s made multiple patreon and twitter posts in the past requesting for any teeth people had to be sent to his P/O box. Fun!

YouTube viewer who saw this was free while checking out the patreon here, but in my opinion when it comes to Jack Stauber’s work, it’s best consumed in multiple watches, especially his longer projects like Opal and Shop, they’re loaded with so many details and are very lyrically dense in their individual meanings. Not “getting it” or understanding at first is honestly a right of passage when it comes to Jack Stauber.

The reaction is absolutely amazing, thank you for reacting to two of Jack's songs, even if they are quite weird! I'd give Oh Klahoma a try! (I think that's the name... LOL)

Ooo, I love Jack Stauber! I'm sorry you didn't get the same things out of this as I have, but that's alright. Opal is very heavy and quite serious in its presentation. It definitely has some absurdist elements, but it definitely grows on rewatch. We see that who we assume is "Opal" is actually Claire, who lives with a drug addicted mother, a father more worried about himself and his appearances than the welfare of his own daughter, and her sickly and abusive grandpa. We see her run to the attic, her safe space (represented by the white lace), to imagine herself as the little girl on the billboard across the street, happy and healthy with a family that loves her and sees her. That's why the very first words and the very last words are "We see you Opal, your troubles are miles away."
