Early Viewing - Reliving The War #167
Added 2023-09-13 21:46:51 +0000 UTCHere it is! This could end up being the biggest RTW episode of the entire series; Fingerpoke of Doom and Mankind vs Rock. The episode runs for 55 minutes.
The episode of Thunder that follows the Fingerpoke of Doom lays the groundwork for this "new" nWo. For this reason, and so I'm not referring back to Thunder every 5 minutes in next week's RTW, a special "Episode 167.5" will get uploaded very soon (Patreon first as always, and then it'll go live on YouTube on the Sunday following #167). This special will only look at Thunder, but it will make the following RTW easier to digest. Script work starts on that special tomorrow.
In the meantime, I'm also putting together a video looking at weird, funny and stupid bootleg and knock-off wrestling merchandise. That one will get uploaded before the RTW Thunder Special.

I know that this WCW Fingerpoke gets a really bad wrap. But I was 19, I only watched WCW. I personally didn't care (at the time) about the WWF. I was pretty happy with this swerve. Getting the entire NWO back together and Flair is in charge was setting up for an entertaining war. Looking back now, I can see how big of a deal it was for Mick to win the title. I would have watched that match too. But in 1999 I couldn't watch both shows. I only had some much time in college, so WCW was my choice. I watched until it ended. I also never cared for DX. I just didn't get it.
