Early Viewing - Reliving The War #137

I will never, ever forget editing this video.
When I script Reliving The War I also gather the video clips for the upload. I had some rendering issues last week (I mentioned it in the episode #136 post) and, while scripting #137, I noticed a few weird artifacts on my monitors. I went through the usual steps, uninstall the graphics card drivers, do a clean install, update drivers, update windows, reseat the card - nothing would make the artifacts go away. The screens then began completely switching off and then - when they came back on - windows was a complete glitchy mess. The graphics card (a GTX 4090) had completely died, and I had Reliving The War to finish.

Got in touch with the retailer (from England - I'm in Northern Ireland) and they said they would replace it... once I send the broken one back with a courier. I thought "sweet, but it doesn't help with RTW". So I had to rely completely on the CPU and integrated graphics to try and put a whole episode together. If any of you guys edit videos you'd know how problematic this can be - a 10 minute video with minimum fx might be ok but a 40 minute episode RTW was going to make that CPU work its ass off.

Finished the edit while dealing with constant crashes in software (seriously, I saved the project every minute or so), went to render the video and it looked awful. I couldnt put it out to you guys, loads of glitching and general weirdness especially during transitions. Ended up finding a setting that cleared the video cache, enabled some old legacy video decoding, I prayed that it would render out fine on the slowest setting I could find.. and it worked!

So, this was the toughest RTW I've ever put together. Its a miracle it worked out, I'm delighted it's finished and I'm delighted to post it to Patreon tonight! With that said, please let me know if you notice any "weirdness" in the video (not disco inferno)... if you notice any stutters / artifacts please let me know. The plan is to re-render this when I receive the replacement GPU and get a better quality version released (the courier was supposed to pick up the broken one today, and of course, the courier didn't arrive).
