Update
Added 2024-12-29 19:30:32 +0000 UTCHello! I hope the holidays are going well for everyone! Here's a quick update on how things are going with me and what to expect coming up.
I would like to start off by extending a massive thank you to everyone who has contributed to Patreon or SubscribeStar thus far. This month, we hit a milestone of $1000 in monthly support! This means I can have my rent covered through passive income alone, and brings me closer to fulfilling the ultimate goal of being completely independent with my creative work. The next goal would be to hit 1500, which will then cover the rest of my current bills! Thank you again for your support, it genuinely helps a ton and goes directly towards what I would like to do and what people would like to see from me.
Now for some general updates:
Commissions
Due to the influx of commission submissions for December, I won't be opening commissions for January as I booked ahead of time with some of the com submissions I received for this month. This has actually been an ongoing dilemma, where I felt I had to turn a lot of good ideas down due to limited slots. Moving forward, I'm thinking of opening up commissions on a bi-monthly basis, and in general as we see the paysite goals become fulfilled, I'll be slowing down the amount I take on. Apologies if this comes as a disappointment for some!
Schedule
As I'm a few months into full-time artist mode, I've realized that the classic 9 to 5 work schedule does not align with creativity, hahaha. I thought I could make it work at first, but alas, art scheduling has been more like an on and off process all day for most of the week. I do like this honestly, a flexible schedule helps a lot in creative work. Though this also makes post times a bit less consistent by the week, there is still a focus on meeting quotas. Scheduling just won't be so day-to-day as I originally thought it would.
Animation
I know I've been teasing this idea of animation since I started patreon, but now that I'm getting to the point of not having to rely so much on commissions with the paysite funds, there will be some more time to start exploring this realm properly. I have ToonBoom Harmony installed, and I'll be learning this program in the coming weeks. Something of a New Years resolution thing for me, I guess!
Future
Good news if you liked the last Janis set - Been talking with my friend again, and he's up for another bunny series with Janis and Emil! Stay tuned for something like that to start February.
More and more lately, I've been considering getting into selling merch. Whether its prints, T-shirts, pillows or plushes, ideally, I will want this stuff to be of good quality and from a reputable source. I've googled around a little bit so far, but I would be interested in personal opinions on this since I'm a bit green in this realm. If you have any recommendations for manufacturers or know artists you've purchased merch from and have been satisfied with the quality, shoot a dm my way and let me know. When it comes down to getting something like that off the ground, I would definitely let patrons and subscribers in on first dibs!
Other than that, Happy New Years!

2024-12-30 03:44:55 +0000 UTCRegarding the merch, I can not speak for others but only myself, I have never been a fan of the normal routes that are taken but rather of art. Any possibilities of prints being made available for us to purchase?

2024-12-30 00:17:30 +0000 UTCLove to see it! I was advocating for you to make a patreon since before you had one, so it's nice to see it's going well for you

2024-12-29 20:54:06 +0000 UTCFor plushies, I'd say makeship seems to be a good option, I've only ever bought two plushies from there but they were both of great quality, can't really say anything about how it is as a creator though haha (also if you come out with a Rowan plush I'll buy ten of them)
