Maybe Cass "suggests" that FemmeMC begins wearing more feminine outfits in order to "boost the tavern's income", and Mary then sees the tips that the MC pulls in, thereby sparking in her a desire to out-skimp the tavernkeep?

Would Alanna be playing a bigger role later?
