I spent most of Thursday and Friday this week on cleaning up my code. Honestly, when I first started working on this game it was the first time I ever used ren'py (the game engine), and while I learned python (the programming language) in school I hadn't coded with it in about a decade. As such the game's code ended up being very messy and inefficient. And although I had initially planned on adding some more mechanics this week, I ran into a wall and realized that this had become a big enough problem that I needed to spend some time to fix it. The code is now a lot more flexible, which is of great help as I continue to develop It's a Gluttonous Life.
I also rendered more images for Elaine's shower scene (i.e. the one you'll get if you have a good relationship with her), so hopefully these previews will help to make up for the slow progress this week. ^w^;;
Also, since a lot of folks have been complaining about how long it takes to level up skills, and since I anticipate that some will complain about how long digestion takes, I've added two sets of options when the player starts a new game: the first lets you set the average digestion speed, and the second lets you set the average amount of time it takes to level up a skill. These options also modify the game mechanics tied to these (so for example, if you increase digestion speed, it will take you less time to escape a pred's belly).
