Well, It's just a regular update, but on the anniversary day(which is today!).

GOAT officially launched on 2022 May 12, I spent a long time working on it the years before. But that was some wonky experiment with animations and minimalistic VR system for my own entertainment. No main menu, no scene select, no voice select, just a badly lit room with my "animations" in it. Of course, it all started with a single loop, which was extended to multiple phases. Eventually I added some randomized expressions for the animation to make it a bit more real.
After like a year of animation practice,I felt the need to share the animations - mainly to receive some feedback and ideas to improve further. And the feedback I got reinforced my idea of releasing the game. But before that, I faced a big problem I was unable solve for a while.
I wanted to make the game modular. Seperate files for characters, scenes and voicepacks that can be download like a DLC. Otherwise, I cant just release new content without rebuilding the whole project first. I also entertained the idea of other content creators making content for the game, which can only be achieved with modularity.
So I spent the next few months figuring out what is the proper way to make the game modular,and on 2022 February, I broke the ice. Contents can be cut into seperate files and can be loaded.
Then real work began.
Time to create the main menu, scene select, voice select. Time to make it a real game.
I prepared the first version with 6 characters, 3 scenes and 4 incomplete voice packs,
with basically zero customisation options or anything.
After hesitating for weeks, I finally pressed the release button. I was afraid of nobody will like it, but I had to see if my ideas are worth anything or not.
Luckily, some people did find it worthwhile, even if the game was in a very primitive state. Many of the are still around, and I'm very grateful for them. Their early support helped me to buy more assets, which eventually led to the game we have today. Many new characters, scenes, voicepacks, and features were added since, some are planned, some were random some were made upon feedback. It grew a bit with each update. And there is still sooo much left to done.
After all, this is still just the beggining.

Make a small update for the main menu. Statues will be loaded after pressing the start button instead of freezing the game at startup. Loading progress can also be seen.
