Chapter 896: Yellow Card Warning, Baby

Although there was no goal, the attack showcased the strength and teamwork of the Dortmund side.

Su Luo allowed himself a small smile as he returned to his position, drained both physically and mentally.

The game quickly settled back into its rhythm.

Refocusing, Su Luo continued directing his teammates’ movements and positioning. He knew there would be more opportunities to seize.

Midway through the match, Su Luo’s goal sent the Signal Iduna Park into a frenzy.

The atmosphere on the pitch was electric as Borussia Dortmund supporters roared for their hero.

Su Luo raised his arms with confidence and joy, accepting the applause and cheers from his teammates.

The goal was a testament to his own hard work and to the team’s unity — a fitting reward for their effort on the field.

On the sidelines, from the observation area, Tomoaki Makino watched Su Luo’s celebration with a growing scowl.

He couldn’t stomach being beaten so easily by such a young player. To him, the goal felt like an act of defiance — even provocation.

Makino’s temper boiled over, and he resolved to stop Su Luo by any means necessary, even if it meant rough play.

With a burst of speed, Makino charged toward Su Luo, his presence radiating menace.

But before he could make contact, Hagen stepped in, shielding Su Luo with his own body.

Hagen blocked Makino’s path completely, his expression cold.
“Can’t you just play the game? Why try to take someone out?”

Makino froze, caught off guard by Hagen’s intervention. In that moment, he realized he’d nearly crossed the line. His private frustration had almost led him to break the unspoken rules of respect on the pitch.

The referee, having seen the confrontation, rushed over.

He brandished a yellow card at Makino.
“This is your first warning. Watch your conduct.”

Makino nodded silently. He could feel the weight of the referee’s authority and the disapproval of his own teammates. He understood now that chasing after Su Luo in anger would only harm himself and the team.

Su Luo, watching Makino receive the warning, felt quietly grateful to Hagen for defusing the situation before it escalated.

Though still annoyed, Su Luo reminded himself: a player who can’t control their temper will always pay the higher price.

The match at Signal Iduna Park remained intense, with Su Luo continuing to threaten Cologne’s defense.

Through agile dribbling and pinpoint passing, he drove Dortmund forward again and again.

But in the 70th minute, disaster struck during a fierce challenge.

Su Luo slipped past two Cologne defenders, only for one of them to blatantly trip him.

He tumbled hard to the ground, rolling before finally lying still, clutching his leg in pain.

The referee’s whistle shrieked through the stadium as he rushed toward the scene.

The Dortmund coach sprinted onto the pitch to assess Su Luo’s condition.

At the same time, Makino and several Dortmund players stormed over to confront the referee.

“Ref, that’s a blatant foul! Are they trying to injure our captain on purpose?” Makino barked, his voice tight with anger.

The referee remained composed.
“I saw the foul. I’ll deal with it appropriately. Please calm down.”

Hagen, still fresh and uninjured, arrived to help Su Luo to his feet.
