Chapter 815: Decided To Let You Start The Game From The Bench
Added 2025-06-29 10:54:11 +0000 UTCNorman and assistant coach Emmett stood to the side, discussing tactics and the starting lineup.
Norman frowned from time to time, clearly hesitant.
He understood the importance of Su Luo as a core player, but he couldn’t ignore Su Luo’s recent dip in form.
Sensing Norman’s inner conflict, Emmett spoke softly,
"Norman, I think we should consider protecting the young players. They’re our hope for the future."
Norman paused, setting down the tactical board he had been arranging. He furrowed his brow, seriously considering Emmett’s suggestion.
Emmett had a point—young players needed more opportunities to grow and showcase their abilities.
However, Su Luo was vital to the team, both in technical execution and tactical strategy.
Benchings Su Luo could impact the team’s overall strength and morale.
Norman took a deep breath and stared out at the stadium in the distance.
Finally, he made a decision.
"Emmett, let’s strike a balance. Su Luo will start the match, but if he doesn’t regain his rhythm in the first half, we’ll substitute him at halftime."
Emmett nodded in agreement.
"That’s a fair decision. It gives Su Luo a chance to recover while also protecting the younger players."
Norman and Emmett walked purposefully toward the bench, where Su Luo was still seated, quietly awaiting news.
The locker room fell completely silent. All eyes turned toward the coaches, filled with anticipation and encouragement.
Su Luo felt the weight of the moment as everyone waited for Norman’s verdict.
Finally, Norman and Emmett stopped in front of him.
Norman looked directly at Su Luo and said,
"Su Luo, we’ve decided you won’t start this match—you’ll come on from the bench."
Although Su Luo had mentally prepared himself for this, the decision still stung.
He understood the coach’s reasoning, but it was hard not to feel disappointed.
"I understand, coach," Su Luo replied, doing his best to conceal his disappointment.
"I’ll do everything I can to give my best performance when I get on the pitch."
Norman saw the determination in Su Luo’s eyes and recognized that the young man’s fighting spirit was still burning bright.
"Su Luo, you’re an important part of this team," Norman said seriously.
"We’re giving you this opportunity because we believe in you. You have what it takes to be a starter again. All you need to do is give it your all and show us your true potential."
Su Luo nodded, the fire in his heart reigniting.
"Thank you, coach, for your trust. I will do everything I can to prove myself." He smiled, regaining his confidence.
Norman’s tone softened.
"Good. We believe in you, Su Luo."
He gave Su Luo a firm pat on the shoulder.
"Now go out there and show us your true strength."
Su Luo felt a surge of strength from Norman’s encouragement.
He knew he had to overcome his self-doubt and transform this inner fire into a force his teammates could feel on the pitch.
As match day approached, the atmosphere at the Westfalenstadion grew electric. The stage was set for the showdown between Dortmund and Bournemouth.
The team traveled to the stadium by bus. As Su Luo looked out the window, he saw countless enthusiastic fans waving flags and cheering.
In their eyes, he saw belief, excitement, and unwavering support.
And at that moment, Su Luo felt the weight of their expectations settle squarely on his shoulders—but he also felt a renewed sense of purpose.
