It is efficient with monsters at least. It was non monsters that made it inefficient cause unlike monsters. Non monsters are not made of mana

He literally drained one of them completely dry. It’s good to know the colony can produce the essence from monsters and possibly from mana itself. Even if that is not efficient it may be critical to develop a way to instantly evolve an ant or other entity at a critical moment. Say if a nest is getting attacked they could boost a lot of warriors and mages from tier 4 to 5 or 5 to 6 in as little time as it takes to evolve or even a faster way to raise queens or level the non combat classes.

2026-02-23 11:50:10 +0000 UTCI wonder if the legion used biomancy to make themselves all schmoopy. That’s a cleansed fifth stratum mana type right?

2026-02-21 07:33:02 +0000 UTCThis chapter highlights the big differences between the Colony and others that they fight. To any other group in the world this procedure is either a fantastic boon or a horrible nightmare forget the church using this tech think about the horrors of the krath figuring this out. The Colony though would never think of using it not because its vile nature but because its too inefficient.

2026-02-20 11:06:00 +0000 UTCUsing the ritual on this church member is proportional to his crime against a member of the colony. If it acts as a suitable deterrent, and only has to be used once, then it will have done its job, in which case perfecting the ritual would be a waste of time.

2026-02-20 11:04:48 +0000 UTCNo. Just no. This process is literal torture for the person undergoing it. This is in no way a proportional response.

2026-02-20 10:57:47 +0000 UTCThe legion is gonna be real mad when they find out the ants can also turn them into EXP smoothies if they choose violence

2026-02-20 06:55:21 +0000 UTCI agree with Brilliant. It ain't good it doesn't explode. But, I believe perfecting the ritual would have significant use.

2026-02-20 06:36:26 +0000 UTCHe's probably have a faith crisis as they just broken one of his church's beliefs about them being different from monsters as he likely unaware of brilliant's "trickery"
