It's kinda like a double entendre, which is used cleverly in this series to show the different sides of Frieren. The only downside is that the kanji's double meaning doesn't translate to other languages. So, most of the translations have to pick one meaning or the other, or just make another fitting title, like the English translation of the manga did with "Beyond Journey's End".

Depending on the context it can mean "someone who escorts people to the other world" or like "Frieren of many funerals" ... so up until this point (if you're japanese) you might think that the title refers to the theme of the show of Frieren outliving her friends and dealing with that which it does to an extent , but this episode would be the "reveal" that it's actually the nickname the demons gave her "Frieren the slayer" which is another way of reading that kanji :)
