I have some buds who work on a naval ship. They said the work hours are long, the leadership is toxic, the space is cramped, and they have their fair share of asswholes. But many also described their time at sea as fun because they at least have time to breath. Also the workers health is top priority in any military operation. The fact that mappa employees have continuously stated that they had no time to complete the jobs they loved or have broken down while trying to complete an episode has shown me that mappa has really messed up when you can consider that some military installations have better working conditions then a company that provides entertainment.(Keep in mind that I'm not saying all jobs in the military are better then working for mappa. Just the work/pay ratio is more strict.)

Sucks to hear that you had such bad jobs. Seems to be a more common experience nowadays. My friend that I work on coding stuff with (TL;DR Super Mario Maker but in Minecraft) has a job as a software engineer at Amazon, and is forced to finish a shut down product to beta that was doomed from the start, something expensive that they tried to make cheap, which just makes the product subpar. He's overworked for no extra pay and feels like he's not contributing to society in any meaningful way. He just feels lost and without purpose. But at least he finds some fulfillment in his hobbies. I am glad that you guys can do what you want now and have fun, and I hope Mappa's animators can find love in what they're doing without being overworked. After all, doing too much of what you enjoy can burn you out really bad, and even make you hate it.
