Sorry Nate, but I agree with Nick on this one. Knowing all the facts in advance deters more people than being told it's bad. Your argument isn't invalid by any means. But you are overlooking Nick's point. He isn't saying that NO ONE would try human transmutation. He is saying Less people would've. And yes Edward knew that it hadn't been done before. And he believed he could pull it off.. but even he says during that fake priest episode. That it CANT be done. It's impossible to do by normal means. Without a philosophers stone it's objectively impossible. Had the rules of alchemy said, human transmutation is taboo and shouldn't be attempted, because it is impossible, and the act of doing so will not only fail to create a life, but will also cause you to be irreparablely injured for life, assuming you don't die instantly, or bleed out. Someone as smart as Edward was as a kid wouldn't have attempted it. And many more also wouldn't want to take a risk with a 100% failure rate
