"The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse" is one of Aesop's fables and is a reacurring theme in the series, it was also the book Aki's parents were reading to his brother in the flashback. The Country mouse lives a life of safety but only gets to eat bland food, meanwhile the Town Mouse eats delicious food but has to deal with cats and humans trying to kill it.
